AlinaYo è una designer di modisteria, cappelli e accessori nata a San Pietroburgo, in Russia
Il successo creativo di Alina è iniziato con la realizzazione manuale dei costumi teatrali, abiti che potrebbero trasformare una persona in una misteriosa creatura fatata
Oltre ad essere brava con l’ago e la visione, ha prestato la massima attenzione alla creazione di costruzioni complesse e volumetriche, imitando i possibili stili di capelli straordinari naturali, forme della testa, corna, dreadlocks, tubi, tentacoli e vegetazione molto prima della nascita di Avatar e Maleficent negli schermi pubblici
Uno dei suoi costumi infeltriti a mano si chiama “L’albero della vita”, con maniche e cappello che imitano i rami e la corona, un altro costume altamente elaborato ricordava l’aspetto di un Arlecchino medievale o Pulcinella, ma poteva anche essere riconosciuto come un elfo islandese da una bella fantasia
Dopo un periodo di collaborazione con artisti e attori in vari festival ed eventi sociali, Alina trasforma le sue capacità lavorative interamente nella progettazione di cappelli e accessori per capelli, spille, spille e fermagli per capelli
Alina ora trae ispirazione dall’esplosione degli anni ’20, il movimento modernista in stile Liberty degli anni ’20
Come durante la Belle Epoque nel 1900 e decenni dopo negli anni ’60, troverai un giovane movimento bohémien – dove sventola la bandiera per la libertà di espressione personale
Le principali città come Parigi, Berlino, Londra, New York e Washington furono i melting pot sociali per l’esplosione culturale del 1920
Le donne iniziarono a festeggiare nei club, a ballare per il jazz e cambiarono look tagliandosi capelli, e indossando cappelli e abiti differenti, nasceva un nuovo look iconico di capelli svolazzanti, lunghe collane e cappelli con flap
In termini di moda, i cappelli sono noti per essere un accessorio molto evidente, perché l’attenzione dello spettatore viene attirata prima sul viso
Riconoscendo il bisogno di autoespressione dell’individuo e avendo un buon occhio per comprendere le caratteristiche del viso, Alina progetta i suoi cappelli in modo che possano essere eleganti e al tempo stesso lusinghieri, sono pezzi d’arte unici che enfatizzano l’individualità personale e ben si adattano allo stile femminile di chi li indossa

 

 

 

AlinaYo is a milliner, hat and accessories designer born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia
Alina’s creative success started with hand making of the theatrical costumes, outfits that could turn a person into a mysterious fairy creature
Also being good with the needle and vision, she put most of attention in creating complex and volumetric constructions, imitating the could-be natural unordinary hair styles, head shapes, horns, dreadlocks, tubes, tentacles and vegetation long before Avatar and Maleficent were born into public screens
One of her hand-felted costumes is referred as “The tree of life”, sleeves and hat imitating the branches and the crown, another highly elaborated costume reminded a look of a medieval Harlequin or Pulcinella, but could be also recognized as an islandic elf from a beautiful fantasy
After a period of collaboration with performers and actors on various festivals and social events, Alina turns her hardworking skills entirely on designing hats and hair accessories, brooches, pins and hairgrips
Alina now derives her inspiration from the bursting 20-s, the Modernist Art Nouveau movement of the 20-s
As during the Belle Epoque in the 1900’s and decades later in the 1960’s, you would find a young bohemian movement – flying the flag for freedom of self-expression
The major cities like Paris, Berlin, London, New York and Washington were the social melting pots for the 1920’s cultural explosion
Women started to party in clubs, dance for jazz and changed their look by cutting their hair, hat brims and dresses. This was the time of the new iconic flapper look of bobbed hair, long necklaces and flapper hats
In fashion terms, the hats are known to be a very noticeable accessory, because the onlooker’s attention is first drawn to the face
Admitting the individual’s need for self-expression and having a good eye for understanding face features, Alina designs her hats to be elegant and flattering
They are unique pieces of art that will emphasize your individuality and fit your feminine style

Giulia Mio è una pluripremiata modista italiana che si dedica alla realizzazione di cappelli e copricapi sofisticati ed eleganti con i migliori materiali e con una finitura impeccabile
Si è formata come una modista tradizionale, ma sta sperimentando nuove tecniche e materiali innovativi, creando uno stile misto unico
È nata in una piccola città nel nord-est dell’Italia, a Udine, nella regione di confine del Friuli Venezia-Giulia
Ha studiato nelle scuole locali e, fin dall’infanzia, ha mostrato segni di temperamento creativo; preferiva sedersi all’interno durante le pause della scuola elementare e disegnare e dipingere con il suo insegnante di arte
Ha aggiunto tutto il movimento di cui aveva bisogno quando si è iscritta a una scuola di ballo locale all’età di 9 anni e da allora non ha mai smesso di ballare
Durante le scuole medie e superiori voleva diventare un’artista, ma ha dovuto aspettare fino all’università per seguire il suo sogno di studiare come costumista
Ha frequentato un BA presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia in Set e Costumi, diplomandosi a pieni voti nel 2007
Si è quindi trasferita a Milano per frequentare un Master in Costumi presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, laureandosi di nuovo a pieni voti nel 2011
Durante il suo secondo anno di MA, ha iniziato a sperimentare la modisteria e la produzione di cappelli per una grande produzione che ha coinvolto gli studenti di quell’anno.
Dopo la laurea si è specializzata in modisteria per la moda e il teatro tra Roma, Milano e Zurigo, lavorando principalmente come modista teatrale per “Brancato Costumi” a Milano, uno dei locali di lavoro più famosi in Italia
Ha creato il suo marchio “Le Volte Cappelli” con un collega nel 2011, e hanno progettato e realizzato cappelli di alta moda per matrimoni e occasioni speciali, per poi sciogliere la società nel 2013 quando Giulia si è trasferita nel Regno Unito
Da quando si è trasferita a Oxford, Giulia ha dovuto prendere una decisione di carriera impegnativa, dovendo scegliere tra la sua profonda passione per i costumi storici e la modisteria.
Alla fine, ha scelto i cappelli e ha frequentato diversi masterclass a Londra con i migliori modisti come Bridget Bailey, Jane Stoddart, Harvy Santos, Jane Taylor e Carol Maher, mentre nel frattempo sviluppava le sue tecniche
Ha fondato la sua azienda “Giulia Mio Millinery” nel 2015 e da allora ha ricevuto numerosi premi nazionali e internazionali di modisteria
Si è trasferita a Leicester nell’ottobre 2015 e ha fondato il suo studio nel prestigioso Makers’ yard , al centro del quartiere culturale nel centro di Leicester City
Lo stile di Giulia è il risultato di una miscela di arte, moda e osservazione della natura, ma anche le Belle Arti e il Teatro hanno un’influenza significativa sul suo processo creativo, con il suo amore per l’imprevisto e lo strano

Giulia Mio is an Italian award-winning couture milliner devoted to making sophisticated and elegant hats and headpieces from the finest materials, with an immaculate finish
She trained as a traditional milliner, but she is experimenting with new techniques and innovative materials, creating a unique mixed style
She was born in a small town in North-East Italy, Udine, in the border region of Friuli Venezia-Giulia
She studied in local schools, and, since childhood, she showed signs of creative temperament; she preferred sitting inside during breaks in Primary school and draw and paint with her art teacher
She added all the movement she needed when she joined a local ballet school at age 9 and never stopped dancing since then
During Middle School and High School, she wanted to become an artist, but she had to wait until Univerity to follow her dream to study as Costume Designer.
She attended a BA’s at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in Set and Costume Desing, graduating with full marks in 2007
She then moved to Milan to attend an MA’s in Costume Design at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, graduating with full marks again in 2011
During her second year of MA’s, she started experimenting with millinery and hatmaking for a big production involving the students of that year
After graduation she specialised in millinery for fashion and theatre between Rome, Milan and Zurich, working mainly as a theatrical milliner for “Brancato Costumi” in Milan, one of the most famous costumes work-room in Italy
She created her brand “Le Volte Cappelli” with a co-worker in 2011. They designed and made exclusive couture hats for weddings and special occasion. They dissolved the company in 2013 when Giulia moved to the UK
Since moving to Oxford, Giulia had to make a challenging career decision, having to choose between her deep passion for historical costumes and millinery
Eventually, she chose hats and attended several masterclasses in London with top milliners like Bridget Bailey, Jane Stoddart, Harvy Santos, Jane Taylor and Carol Maher, while developing her techniques
She founded her company “Giulia Mio Millinery” in 2015, and since then she was awarded several national and international millinery awards.
She moved to Leicester in October 2015, and she established her studio at the prestigious Makers’ yard, at the centre of the Cultural Quarter in Leicester City centre
Giulia’s style is the result of a blend of Art, Fashion and observation of Nature but also Fine Arts and Theatre also have a significant influence on her creative process, with her love for the unexpected and uncanny

Elli Maanpää – Finland

Elli Maanpää è nata a Turku, in Finlandia nel 1985, è la più giovane di quattro fratelli e vive a Helsinki, sul Mar Baltico
Elli ha iniziato a disegnare in tenera età, da bambina aveva un amico con cui si scambiavano storie e illustrazioni autodefinite
Quando compì undici anni acquistò una serie di colori acrilici e decorò la sua camera da letto dipingendo fiori, orsi e gatti su tutte le pareti
La sorella maggiore di Elli si ammalò di depressione e disturbi alimentari da adolescente, fu ricoverata in ospedale quando Elli aveva 10 anni e da quel momento in poi Elli iniziò a cercare nuove vie per il benessere mentale e l’immaginazione divenne il suo rifugio sicuro e un modo per alleggerire l’atmosfera
Era determinata a trasformare la creatività nella sua professione. È stata accettata per studiare Moda e successivamente Cultura visiva nel dipartimento artistico dell’Università di Aalto; ha anche studiato animazione per capire come le immagini ferme possano creare l’illusione di tempo e movimento
L’energia gioiosa e i colori sono le prime cose che la gente nota dei dipinti di Elli, lavora sia con vernici tradizionali che digitali
La natura e le sue creature – animali e umani allo stesso modo – sono la sua più grande ispirazione, e descrivendosi come “pittore animato” non si riferisce solo ai dipinti aumentati, che prendono vita come animazioni 2D attraverso la realtà aumentata ma anche all’aggettivo “animato”, che significa essere pieni di vita ed eccitazione
I suoi più grandi influencer sono la scrittrice pluripremiata Tove Jansson ei pittori contemporanei Milt Kobayashi e Karoliina Hellberg
Nel 2015 Elli ha tenuto una mostra d’arte in collaborazione con lo Zoo di Helsinki a Korkeasaari, dove i suoi dipinti di Uhanalaiset / Endangered hanno accresciuto la consapevolezza per le specie in via di estinzione conservate dallo Zoo
Nell’estate del 2019, i Augmented Paintings di Elli possono essere visti nel Turku Animated Film Festival in agosto e nel Summer Yard del National Museum of Finland a settembre

 

 

Elli Maanpää was born in Turku, Finland in 1985, she is the youngest of four siblings and lives in Helsinki, by the Baltic Sea
Elli started drawing at a very early age. As a kid she had a pen pal with whom they exchanged self-made stories and illustrations
When she was eleven she bought a set of acrylic paints and decorated her bedroom by painting flowers, bears and cats all over the walls
Elli’s big sister fell ill with depression and eating disorder as a teenager, she was hospitalized when Elli was 10-years-old and from that moment on Elli started to search ways for mental well being, and magination became her safe haven and a way to lighten up the mood
She was determined to turn creativity into her profession. She was accepted to study Fashion and later Visual Culture in the Art department of the Aalto University, she also studied animation in order to understand how still images can create the illusion of time and movement
The joyous energy and colours are the first things people notice about Elli’s paintings, she works with both traditional and digital paints
Nature and its creatures – animals and humans alike – are her biggest inspiration an by describing herself as an “animated painter” she doesn’t only refer to the augmented paintings, that come alive as 2D animations through augmented reality but also to the adjective “animated”, which means being full of life and excitement
Her biggest influencers are multitalented storyteller Tove Jansson and contemporary painters Milt Kobayashi and Karoliina Hellberg
In 2015 Elli held a solo art exhibition in collaboration with the Helsinki Zoo in Korkeasaari, where her Uhanalaiset/Endangered paintings raised awareness for the endangered species conserved by the Zoo
In summer 2019 Elli’s Augmented Paintings can be seen in Turku Animated Film Festival in August and in the Summer Yard of the National Museum of Finland in September

Se ne è andato un maestro – Andrea Camilleri

Se ne è andato Andrea Camilleri era uno dei più noti e amati scrittori italiani contemporanei, aveva 93 anni
Questo grandissimo scrittore ha saputo raccontare la sua Sicilia come nessuno mai ha saputo farlo prima di lui, e lo ha fatto in maniera dolce come solo una persona che ama profondamente la sua terra può fare
I suoi libri sono stati tradotti in oltre 120 Paesi nel mondo e hanno fatto conoscere il “ vigatese” quel felicissimo connubio tra italiano e dialetto siciliano a chi magari non era in grado di comprendere l’inglese
Sicuramente è stato uno dei più amati e famosi scrittori italiani degli ultimi venti anni , ma caso strano non ha mai vinto un Premio Strega e nessuno si è mai sognato di pensare a lui come un possibile futuro Premio Nobel, ma si sa questa è l’Italia che di fronte a un maestro di tale levatura si riscopre puntualmente provinciale a tal punto da non arrivare a pensare che un Premio Strega per uno scrittore di tale caratura non sarebbe ma è un atto dovuto
La scomparsa di Camilleri e per quello che ha rappresentato per la Sicilia, per i siciliani e per la cultura di quella terra è un po’ come se fosse morta nuovamente Santa Rosalia
Di lui resteranno gli oltre 100 libri scritti che raccontano ciascuno a suo modo un pezzo di Sicilia e tramandano la cultura di una regione che grazie a lui ha saputo trovare la giusta collocazione nell’immaginario di ciascun lettore che seguendolo attraverso i suoi libri ha potuto conoscere la Sicilia quella vera!

 

 

 

Andrea Camilleri is gone, was one of the most famous and beloved contemporary Italian writers, he was 93 years old

Camilleri’s death and for what he represented for Sicily, for the Sicilians and for the culture of that land is a bit like Santa Rosalia died again
Of him will remain the over 100 written books that tell each in his own way a piece of Sicily and hand down the culture of a region that thanks to him has been able to find the right place in the imagination of each reader who, following him through his books, he could know Sicily the real one!

Created too, in February of 2018, the Coletiva Contemporâneos, that united currently 10 artists working in the Rio scene, promoting artistic occupations, marked with diversity of styles and languages.

La  ” Piccola Parigi “ è una manifestazione artistica che nasce nel 2012 a Quistello in provincia di Mantova, per rivitalizzare il centro storico dopo il terremoto che lo aveva devastato e unire la sua comunità
L’evento promosso dall’artista Caterina Borghi e dall’Amministrazione comunale di Quistello giunge quest’anno alla sua 8° edizione e si terrà domenica 25 agosto
Come a MontMartre gli artisti sono invitati a portare le loro opere o a crearle sul posto

Siamo in Sicilia, questo triangolo che affiora dal mare che non è né Europa né Africa, una terra che racconta di tante dominazioni, di culture che si intrecciano, di un Arte capace di catturare al primo sguardo, di paesaggi incredibili, di sapori, profumi e odori che vi accompagnano lungo il cammino
In ogni paese anche il più piccolo c’è qualche storia affascinante da scoprire, una specialità culinaria da assaggiare o il genio di un artista da ammirare
A Misilmeri in provincia di Palermo, ha il suo laboratorio studio Paola Marchese un artista poliedrica nativa di Erice
Paola ha iniziato a dipingere da bambina e dopo aver frequentato il Liceo artistico,ha continuato a coltivare questa sua passione per l’arte da autodidatta, sempre sostenuta e incoraggiata dai suoi genitori, in particolare da papà Giuseppe
Il suo amore per l’Oriente, lo studio delle arti antiche come Batik e Shibori, nonché la ricerca e la sperimentazione di nuove tecniche di estrazione dei colori dalle piante le hanno consentito negli anni di affinare la sua tecnica portandola a realizzare opere uniche nel loro genere che vanno dagli arazzi, alla creazione di pochette, abiti, foulard, tessuti e cuscini
Batik nell’idioma indonesiano significa “scrivere” ovvero “disegnare” e Paola grazie al sapiente uso di questa antica tecnica, tinge i tessuti per poi ricoprirli di cera ( che lei usa proprio come un colore ) dando vita a opere uniche in cui i colori vengono impressi con un vigore volutamente frammentato e in ritmi brevi
I ricorrenti motivi floreali accompagnati da particolari sfumature ricordano la poesia di un passato ricco di tradizione e di memoria di una civiltà antica ma tuttora presente, grazie a chi come lei ancora la tramanda
I capi di abbigliamento creati da Paola sembrano silenti al primo sguardo, ma solo un attimo dopo rilasciano attraverso il loro caleidoscopio di colori una vena poetica capace di parlare all’anima e risvegliare le più recondite fantasie
Si tratta di capi di abbigliamento unici nella loro realizzazione , veri e propri quadri da indossare per trasmettere agli altri la propria personalità che si rivelerà attraverso il gioco cromatico dei colori che sono poi quelli capaci di dare un senso alla vita di ciascuno di noi

In each country even the smallest there is some fascinating history to discover, a culinary specialty to taste or the genius of an artist to admire
At Misilmeri in the province of Palermo, Paola Marchese a multifaceted artist native of Erice has her own studio
Paola started to paint as a child and after attending the artistic high school, she continued to cultivate this passion for self-taught art, always supported and encouraged by her parents, in particular by her father Giuseppe
Her love for the Orient, the study of ancient arts such as Batik and Shibori, as well as the research and experimentation of new techniques for extracting colors from plants, have allowed her over the years to refine her technique, leading her to create unique works in their generally ranging from tapestries to the creation of clutches, dresses, scarves, fabrics and cushions
Batik in the Indonesian idiom means “writing” or “drawing”, and Paola thanks to the wise use of this ancient technique, dyes the fabrics to then cover them with wax ( which she uses just like a color ) giving life to unique works in which colors are imprinted with a deliberately fragmented vigor and in short rhythms
The recurrent floral motifs accompanied by particular nuances recall the poetry of a past rich in tradition and memory of an ancient but still present civilization, thanks to those who, like her, still pass
The garments created by Paola seem silent at first glance, but only a moment later they release through their kaleidoscope of colors a poetic vein able to speak to the soul and awaken the most hidden fantasies it on
These are unique pieces of clothing in their realization, real paintings to wear to convey to others their own personality that will be revealed through the chromatic play of colors that are then those capable of giving meaning to the life of each of us

Juliane Gorman vive a Gibsonia, in Pennsylvania dal 2014, mentre in precedenza ha vissuto per 11 anni nella pittoresca Norwich, in Inghilterra
Tutti i suoi cappelli fatti a mano vengono realizzati nel suo  piccolo studio a Gibsonia
Molto tempo fa, Juliane Gorman ha lavorato come studentessa d’arte alla Rhode Island School of Design e durante questo periodo, esplorando varie forme di arti artificiali, ha realizzato una serie di sculture di copricapo misti
Dopo la laurea, ha frequentato corsi di modista presso il Fashion Institute of Technology (NY) insieme ad alcuni freelance in negozi di costumi
Tuttavia, l’incanto della creazione è andato in letargo mentre lei ha intrapreso vari lavori e si è dedicata alla famiglia
Fortunatamente,nel 2011, ha visto un braccialetto in feltro in una fiera dell’artigianato; mentre cercava un libro fai-da-te sull’argomento, invece, ne trovò uno dedicato alla produzione di cappelli infeltriti, ecco il suo momento di eureka: trovare un mestiere che combina il suo amore per la fibra colorata, con la sua passione per il copricapo
Da quel momento lei inizia  a creare ed a esplorare  usando solo lana Merino, acqua saponata e le sue mani
Naturalmente, la lana è leggera, resistente all’acqua e, inoltre, calda; ma, soprattutto, è una fibra magica, creativamente piena di possibilità, che sposa la pittura con la scultura!
Cosi’, stimolata dal mondo naturale, dalle fiabe e dalle belle arti, Juliane crea cappelli da indossare che sono utili,  e con un tocco di fantasia
I suoi cappelli sono capaci di dare energia e aiutano a godersi meglio ogni periodo dell’anno, perchè la vita non deve essere grigia!
I suoi pratici e fantastici lavori vengono venduti in tutto il mondo sotto l’etichetta FeltHappiness
Spesso espone a livello locale e internazionale, con cappelli in collezioni private in Australia, Asia, Europa e Nord America.

 

 

Juliane Gorman lives in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania since 2014, while previously she lived for 11 years in picturesque Norwich, England
All her handcrafted hats are made in her small studio in Gibsonia
Long ago, Juliane Gorman felted as an art student at the Rhode Island School of Design  and during this period, exploring other forms of fiber arts, she made a series of mixed-media headdress sculptures
After graduation, she attended millinery classes at Fashion Institute of Technology (NY) along with some freelancing in costume shops
However, the enchantment of creating went into dormancy while she pursued various jobs and parenthood
Serendipitously, in 2011, she saw a felted bracelet at a craft fair, while looking for a DIY book on the topic, instead, she found one devoted to making felted hats; here was her eureka moment: finding a craft which combined her love of colorful fiber, with her passion for headwear
From that moment she makes, she explores, using just Merino wool, soapy water, and her hands
Of course, wool is lightweight, water-resistant, and moreover, warm; but, above all, it’s a magical fiber, creatively full of possibilities, that marries painting with sculpture!
So, energized by the natural world, fairy tales and fine art, Juliane creates wearable art hats that are useful, flattering, and with a touch of whimsey

Alejandro Costas è nato il 5 novembre 1958 a Ituzaingó, Provincia de Buenos Aires.
Dopo aver studiato per più di tre anni Scienze economiche, abbandona quegli studi per dedicarsi al disegno grafico e al disegno umoristico e mette a frutto queste sue conoscenze in una agenzia di pubblicità in Spagna nel 1984.
Al suo ritorno frequenta diversi atelier di disegno e pittura, e nel 1987 dipinge un murales al secondo piano dell’Ospedale dei bambini Dr. Ricardo Gutiérrez.
E’ membro fondatore del “ Grupo del Domingo “ con il quale espone in importanti centri culturali e gallerie d’arte di Buenos Aires.
Fa parte anche del gruppo ” 30 Pintores Naïf Argentinos ” che ha realizzato una mostra itinerante in Bulgaria, Polonia, Rep.Ceca, Italia e Ungheria.
Molte sue opere sono riprodotte su biglietti di auguri per le festività natalizie da parte di associazioni benefiche quali:Cáritas, Hospital de Niños Dr. Ricardo Gutiérrez, Asociación Argentina para la Infancia, Incucai, Crecer Juntos, F.A.D.E.R.C.A., Fundación Hospital de Pediatría Prof. Dr. Juan P. Garrahan, Fundación Huésped, L.A.L.C.E.C. (Central, Sucursal Avellaneda y Suc. Casilda) y Asociación Cooperadora del Hospital de Niños Sor María Ludovica (La Plata).
Dal dicembre 1993 partecipa al gruppo “ de Pintores Primitivos Modernos “ fondato a Esquel ( Chubut ) del ” Museo Naïf más austral del continente “, con questo gruppo realizza molteplici esposizioni in Argentina.
Le sue opere sono oggetto di collezione da parte di estimatori della pittura naif in Germania, Paraguay, Brasile, Colombia, Cile, Spagna, Panama, Portorico, Svizzera, Venezuela e Francia

 

 

 

Alejandro Costas was born November 5, 1958 in Ituzaingó, Provincia de Buenos Aires
After studying economics for more than three years, he abandoned his studies to devote himself to graphic design and humorous drawing and put his knowledge to good use in an advertising agency in Spain in 1984
On his return to Argentina he attended several drawing and painting studios, and in 1987 he painted a mural on the second floor of the Children’s Hospital Dr. Ricardo Gutiérrez
He is a founding member of the “Grupo del Domingo” with which he exhibits in important cultural centers and art galleries of Buenos Aires
He is also a member of the “30 Pintores Naïf Argentinos” group which has organized a traveling exhibition in Bulgaria, Poland, Czech Republic, Italy and Hungary
Many of his works are reproduced on greeting cards for Christmas festivities by charities
His works are the object of a collection by admirers of naive painting all over the world

Ann Decker-Montarello è cresciuta e attualmente vive a metà strada tra New York e Montreal, nello stato di New York, negli Stati Uniti
Ha  avuto un interesse nel design della moda e cucito per  la maggior parte della sua vita, ha iniziato a cucire su una normale macchina da cucire da bambina giocando con i pezzi di stoffa dei progetti di cucito di sua madre
Dopo aver frequentato un corso di modista alla FIT di New York, si è subito innamorata  dell’arte
Nel 2014 ha acquistato la sua prima macchina da cucire a treccia di paglia, una Wilcox & Gibbs 1878 e da quel momento ha iniziato a fare pratica giorno e notte, perché questa macchina che ha 141 anni è un vero e proprio pezzo di storia ma richiede un grande impegno considerato che non esistono più manuali o libretti di istruzioni
Le piace creare cappelli con cui  le donne o gli uomini si possano sentire a proprio agio indossandoli ovunque, formali o informali
Ann mi ha detto che lei  usa solo trecce, tessuti, pelli, fili e nastri di prima qualità sia a macchina che cuciti a mano con attenzione ai dettagli

She had an interest in fashion design and sewing for most of her life, she started sewing on a normal sewing machine as a child playing with scraps of fabric from her mother’s sewing projects
After attending a Millinery course at the FIT ,NYC she immediately fell in love with art
In 2014 she bought her first straw braid sewing machine, a Wilcox & Gibbs 1878 and from that moment she started to practice day and night, because this 141-year-old machine is a real piece of history but it requires a great deal of effort considering that there are no more manuals or instruction booklets
She likes to create hats with which women or men can feel comfortable wearing them everywhere, formal or informal
Ann  told me that se uses only first quality braids, fabrics, leathers, threads and ribbons either machine or hand sewn fabrication with attention to detail
