Jane Moy vive da 10 anni alla periferia di Brisbane, in Australia, in un bellissimo sobborgo chiamato Wellington Point
Si è trasferita lì dopo aver vissuto in una piccola città di campagna per gran parte della sua vita ed è proprio con l’arrivo a Wellington Point che è iniziato il suo viaggio fantastico nel mondo di Millinery
La passione per i capelli l’ha sempre avuta creando copricapi per lei stessa per i vari eventi, e disegnando i vari modelli anche se in una comunità rurale non vi era un reale accesso a corsi di formazione o di modisteria e quindi era più che altro un’autodidatta
La passione per la creatività l’ha ereditata da sua madre che aveva un grande talento ed era una tessitrice di cesti e mentre viveva in campagna ha passato molte ore ad affinare le sue capacità creative attraverso tecniche di ricamo, bordatura e cucito; tutte abilità che usa ancora oggi nella sua  Modisteria
Una volta a Brisbane ha avuto l’opportunità di accedere ad alcuni corsi di formazione, oltre a molti workshop e corsi per imparare e sviluppare l’arte della modisteria
Ha così avuto modo di diventare padrona assoluta di quest’arte così particolare che è la modisteria ed è riuscita a trasmettere agli altri le sue emozioni attraverso le sue creazioni che prendono forma partendo da ispirazioni che le possono arrivare da un semplice fiore che vuole ricreare su di un copricapo o dai colori e la cultura trasmessa dalla visita a un paese straniero
Jane ama sperimentare e giocare con i colori  e prova nuove tecniche con mezzi diversi  sui suoi copricapo per far emergere la loro individualità
La sua creatività a volte la porta come a camminare su una corda tesa senza rete, una volta iniziato sa che deve andare avanti e solo alla fine avrà tra le mani il risultato della sua inventiva
Jane mi ha detto che continuerà a fare cappelli perché sono davvero il suo amore e le hanno dato l’opportunità di esprimere la sua creatività attraverso questa forma d’arte e come non crederle visti i grandi apprezzamenti ricevuti dai suoi cappelli!

 

 

 

Jane Moy live from 10 years on the outskirts of Brisbane, Australia, in a beautiful suburb called Wellington Point
She moved there after living in a small country town for much of her life and it was with her arrival in Wellington Point that her fantastic journey to the world of Millinery began
She has always had a passion for hats by creating headpieces for herself for the various events, and designing the various models even if in a rural community there was no real access to training courses or millinery and therefore it was more than anything else. self taught
Her passion for creativity got it from her mother who was talented  and basket weaver and  while she  lived in the country she spent many hours sharpening her creative skills through fine embroidery techinques, beading and sewing; all of which she still uses today in her Millinery
Once in Brisbane she had the opportunity to access some  formal training, as well as to many workshops and courses to learn and develop the art of millinery
She was able to become the absolute master of this particular art, which is the millineryand managed to convey her emotions to others through her creations that take shape starting from inspirations that can come to her from a simple flower she wants to recreate on a headpiece or from the colors and the culture transmitted from a visit to a foreign country
Jane loves to experiment and play with colors and try new techniques with different means on her headpieces  to bring out their individuality
Her creativity sometimes leads her to walk on a tight rope without a net, once she starts she knows that she must go on and only at the end she will have in her hands the result of her inventiveness
Jane told me that she will continue to make hats because she really love them and they gave her the opportunity to express her creativity through this art form and how not to believe her given the great appreciation received by her hats!

    Taru Rouhiainen when art transforms into joy of living

    With great pleasure today I present to you the Finnish artist Taru Rouhiainen born in Hyvinkää but currently lives  in Vantaa.
    Taru’s is one of those stories that shows us how not only painting, but art in general, can be the best medicine for overcoming difficult times.
    Taru was working as a healthcare worker when a period of  associated with a professional crisis led her to quit her job.
    In 2020, after the crisis, Taru found herself needing something that would allow her not only to stay busy but also to process and express her feelings.
    And so, making a life-changing choice, she enrolled in a painting course and fell in love with art!
    Before discovering painting, she had always appreciated colors and, above all, their effect on our emotions, bringing joy into our homes.
    Taru relies on an intuitive process, beginning with bold colors that then, through her emotions, lead her to complete her work.
    She loves magenta and turquoise colors and metallic paints, but also bright colors that make her happy.
    Experimenting, she began to incorporate contrasting details and multiple layers into her works, adding unique textures to her work.
    To create textures, she uses various materials, including sand, beads, lace, craft materials, and non-slip mats, all bound together with texture-enhancing clay.
    She favors intense textures, capable of making the work more interesting by giving it another dimension that makes the viewer want to touch it.
    Taru paints with the desire to bring joy, energy, and inspiration to the homes where her works will live.
    She likes abstract art for its freedom and the room for interpretation that allows each viewer to give their own interpretation of the work.
    It’s well known that every artist has one or more subjects they consider important, and for Taru, water lilies are the primary subject of her art.
    This is due to their symbolism, which conveys the struggle to emerge from the mud and grow toward the light.
    Water lilies bring hope and convey purity and rebirth in an element like water, which in itself is relaxing, and Taru, just like a water lily, aspires to a better and brighter future after the exhaustion she has suffered.
    Taru began painting five years ago and has been developing her skills by studying art in various courses and completing a two-year art training program at the Hyvinkää Art School.
    She is a member of the Hyvinkää Artists Association and the Helsinki Art Association.
    She has exhibited in numerous galleries, including TheHolyArt in London, the Capital Culture House in Madrid, and the M.A.D.S art gallery in Milan.
    She also edited the cultural publication Art Anthology IV 2021, curated by Guto Ajayu in Madrid.
    She has received two art awards: the Michelangelo Art Prize and the Donatello Art Prize, from the Effetto Arte Foundation in Palermo. Curated by Salvatore and Francesco Russo.
    Taru is definitely an artist to follow because in a world like the current one crossed by a sea of ​​ugliness, her works have the power to convey a great sense of joy and positivity that helps us live life in a more serene way.

    Taru Rouhiainen  quando l’arte si trasforma in gioia di vivere

    Con grande piacere oggi vi presento l’artista finlandese Taru Rouhiainen nata a Hyvinkää ma attualmente residente  a Vantaa.
    Quella di Taru è una di quelle storie che ci fanno capire come non solo la pittura, ma l’arte in generale possono essere la migliore medicina per superare i momenti brutti.
    Taru lavorava come operatore sanitario quando un periodo di esaurimento associato a una crisi professionale l’ha portata a lasciare il lavoro.
    Nel 2020 dopo la crisi Taru si è trovata nella necessità di fare qualcosa che le permettesse non solo di essere impegnata ma anche di elaborare e dar sfogo ai suoi sentimenti.
    E così facendo una scelta che le ha cambiato la vita si è iscritta a un corso di pittura e si è innamorata dell’arte!
    Prima di scoprire la pittura aveva sempre apprezzato i colori e soprattutto il loro effetto sulle nostre emozioni portando gioia nelle case.
    Taru si affida a un processo intuitivo, iniziando ad usare colori audaci che poi attraverso le sue emozioni la portano a completare la sua opera.
    Ama i colori magenta e turchese e le vernici metallizzate, ma anche i colori brillanti che la rendono felice.
    Sperimentando ha iniziato ad inserire nelle sue opere dettagli contrastanti e strati multipli aggiungendo di fatto texture uniche alla sue opere.
    Per creare texture usa vari materiali tra cui sabbia, perline, pizzo, materiale per bricolage,tappetini antiscivolo il tutto legato insieme con pasta modellabile adatta a creare texture
    Predilige le texture intense, capaci di rendere l’opera più interessante conferendole un’altra dimensione che trasmette a chi la osserva la voglia di toccarla.
    Taru dipinge animata dalla voglia di portare gioia, energia e ispirazione nelle case in cui andranno a vivere le sue opere e predilige l’arte astratta per la sua libertà e lo spazio di interpretazione che permette ad ogni spettatore  di dare una propria lettura dell’opera.
    Si sa che ogni artista ha uno o più soggetti che reputa importanti e per Taru le ninfee sono il soggetto principe della sua arte e questo è dovuto al loro simbolismo che trasmette la  lotta per uscire dal fango e crescere verso la luce.
    Le ninfee portano speranza e trasmettono purezza e rinascita in un elemento come l’acqua che di per sé è rilassante, e Taru  proprio come una ninfea aspira a un futuro migliore e più luminoso dopo l’esaurimento che ha patito.
    Sono ormai cinque anni che Taru ha iniziato a dipingere e si è formata studiando arte in vari corsi e completando un biennio di formazione artistica presso la scuola d’arte di Hyvinkää.
    È membro dell’Associazione Artisti di Hyvinkää e dell’Associazione d’arte di Helsinki.
    Ha esposto in numerose gallerie come TheHolyArt di Londra, la Capital Culture House di Madrid e la galleria d’arte M.A.D.S di Milano.
    Ha anche curato la pubblicazione culturale Art Anthology IV 2021, curata da Guto Ajayu a Madrid.
    Ha ricevuto due premi d’arte: Premio d’Arte Michelangelo e il Premio Arte Donatello, della Fondazione Effetto Arte di Palermo, a cura di Salvatore e Francesco Russo.
    Taru é sicuramente un’artista  da seguire perché in un mondo come quello attuale attraversato da una marea di bruttezze le sue opere hanno la forza di trasmettere un grande senso di gioia e positività che aiuta a vivere la vita in un modo più sereno.

    Nel 1937 James Herriot, giovane veterinario alle prime armi, viene chiamato per il ruolo di assistente veterinario a Darrowby, nello Yorkshire.
    James ci racconta in questo libro i suoi primi due anni di professione trascorsi nello Yorkshire in cui la sua vita viene circondata da un mondo che egli impara presto ad amare e ad apprezzare: le creature grandi e piccole di cui si occupa per lavoro e i ruvidi, un po’ scontrosi ma anche capaci di una cordialità genuina, abitanti di quella regione.
    Sono anni in cui James assiste alla trasformazione dell’agricoltura, che in quegli anni sta sostituendo il cavallo con le macchine agricole e nei quali deve affrontare i malanni degli animali senza poter far uso di penicillina e antibiotici, usando spesso e volentieri come uniche risorse: acqua fredda e sale inglese.
    Tra i personaggi che lo circondano in questa sua avventura come non ricordare Siegfred Farnon, il suo bizzarro datore di lavoro e Tristan Farnon, lo spensierato fratello, studente universitario, e Helen la giovane donna con cui intreccia una storia d’amore che la porterà ad essere la futura moglie.
    Un libro che affascinerà chi ama gli animali, la natura e chi vuole fuggire dalla routine quotidiana, dalla vita di città per vivere in armonia con la natura e le creature (grandi e piccole) che lo circondano.

    herriot8Ho conosciuto James Herriot casualmente tanti anni fa, trovando una copia di “ Creature grandi e piccole “ in una piccola libreria; portai il libro a casa e lo divorai!
    Mentre lo leggevo mi resi conto che mi ero imbattuto in uno di quei rari scrittori capaci di trasformare semplici fatti quotidiani in libri che possono diventare dei classici della letteratura; libri da consigliare come lettura nelle scuole sia medie che superiori, perché parlano di cose semplici, buone, di una vita fatta di lavoro ma non scandita dalla frenesia dei giorni nostri.
    Da quel giorno l’ho seguito con grande interesse e ho letto e riletto più volte tutti i suoi libri, comprese le edizioni in inglese, provando ogni volta la stessa emozione come fosse la prima volta.
    Se penso che ci sono bambini e ragazzi che non hanno mai visto una fattoria credo che mai come oggi i suoi libri possano essere utili ed educativi perché mentre Herriot si commuoveva per la nascita di un agnellino, oggi i telegiornali ci danno conto giornalmente di notizie pazzesche su bambini e animali martoriati!
    Il progresso ha portato con sé una sorta di regresso e molti valori importanti si sono persi per strada, per cui credo che leggere Herriot in aula potrebbe aiutare a riscoprirli.
    Il grande amore per la natura e un’abilità narrativa sorprendente fanno di Herriot un maestro del genere.

    CREATURE GRANDI E PICCOLE – La tenera e umana storia di un medico degli animali

    herriotJames Herriot, pseudonimo di James Alfred Wight (Roker, 3 ottobre 1916 – Thirsk, 23 febbraio 1995), è stato uno scrittore e veterinario britannico.
    Wight nacque nel Sunderland, ma durante il primo mese di vita si trasferì con la sua famiglia a Glasgow, dove rimase fino alla laurea in veterinaria, conseguita a 23 anni presso il Glasgow Veterinary College.
    Nel 1937 andò ad abitare nello Yorkshire, più precisamente nella cittadina di Thirsk (la Darrowby dei romanzi), per svolgere la professione di veterinario dapprima come dipendente e poi come socio di Donald Sinclair (il Sigfried Farnon dei romanzi).
    Il 5 novembre 1941 si sposò con Joan Catherine Anderson Danbury (la Helen Alderson dei romanzi), figlia di un benestante proprietario terriero. Ebbe due figli: James Alexander (nato nel 1943) e Rosemary (nata nel 1947).

    Da questo romanzo venne tratto un film con Anthony Hopkins del 1974 (All Creatures Great and Small) e una serie televisiva per la BBC (1978).

    Satu Kekäläinen a fairy tale born from ice

    The Finnish artist I’m introducing to you today is Satu Kekäläinen, she was born in Helsinki, but after living in various places across Finland, she currently lives in Lieto.
    In Finnish, the name Satu means fairy tale, and the one I’m about to tell you begins with… once upon a time, there was a little girl who, at the age of two, became seriously ill with pneumonia, resulting in antibiotic poisoning.
    This little girl was saved from certain death thanks to ice therapy which allowed her temperature to drop to normal values ​​from over 40 degrees to which it had reached.
    Today that little girl is a woman who, despite various vicissitudes, including the loss of her voice ( due to poor air quality at her workplace where she was an audionom ), which she later recovered thanks to contact with nature and the ice, has fulfilled herself artistically by offering wonderful photos taken through the ice on her website Sagastina.
    Ice is a sort of common thread that has accompanied Satu throughout her life, but artistically it all began in 2015 when, needing to find strength and breathe fresh air, she immersed herself in the nature of nearby Lake Littoistenjärvi, and since it was winter, she began photographing with her camera the figures she saw in the lake ice.
    From this first photographic experience was born the photographic book “ Fosforikeiju ” with beautiful images of the lake ice.
    Her passion for photography grew, and with her last salary before leaving her job as an audionom, she bought a new camera with macro functions and  mirror so she could create symmetrical and imaginative images of ice, not only in winter but also in summer, using natural ice stored in the freezer and used among the flowers.
    Satu has always had an artistic streak within her since she was a child and her maternal grandmother encouraged her to cultivate it and so Satu held her first fashion shows of handcrafted clothes having as spectators the cows from her grandmother’s barn.
    She attended the art school for children and teenagers in Turku, studied ceramics, sculpture, drawing and painting in the city boarding schools where her family lived and studied sculpture at the Turku Workers’ School for about 15 years and attended the Mynämäki College of Arts and Crafts Textile Artesaani.
    Her  primary profession remains that of an internal medicine and surgical nurse, audionom  and currently works as a nurse on a rehabilitation assessment team in home care.
    She held numerous solo exhibitions from 2016 to 2023 and took part in a good number of group exhibitions during the same period.
    She published the book “ Fosforikeiju ” in 2017 and the card and therapy package Jään Lumous -Grace of Ice in 2020 ( 44 A6 format photo cards divided into 4 sets of 11 according to the elements of nature: air, fire, water and earth ).
    In December 2016  she won the Invisible Disability Photo Contest of the Turku Committee of Kynnys Ry.

    Satu Kekäläinen una fiaba nata dal ghiaccio

    L’artista finlandese che vi presento oggi si chiama Satu Kekäläinen, nata a Helsinki ma dopo aver vissuto in diverse località della Finlandia attualmente vive a Lieto.
    In finlandese il nome Satu vuol dire fiaba e quella che sto per raccontarvi inizia con… c’era una volta una bambina che all’età di due anni si ammalò gravemente di polmonite con una conseguente intossicazione da antibiotici.
    Questa bambina fu salvata da morte sicura grazie ad una terapia a base di ghiaccio che consentì di far scendere la temperatura a valori normali dagli oltre 40 gradi a cui era arrivata.
    Oggi quella bambina è una donna, che pur attraverso varie peripezie tra cui la perdita della voce ( per una scarsa qualità dell’aria nel luogo di lavoro dove era tecnico audionomo ) poi recuperata grazie al contatto con la natura e con il ghiaccio, si è realizzata artisticamente proponendo attraverso il suo sito web Sagastina delle meravigliose foto scattate attraverso il ghiaccio.
    Il ghiaccio è una sorta di fil rouge che ha accompagnato Satu nel corso della sua vita, ma artisticamente tutto è iniziato nel 2015 quando dovendo trovare forza e respirare aria fresca si è immersa nella natura del vicino lago Littoistenjärvi dove essendo inverno ha iniziato a fotografare con la sua macchina fotografica le figure che vedeva nel ghiaccio del lago.
    Da questa prima esperienza fotografica è nato il libro fotografico “ Fosforikeiju “ con bellissime immagini del ghiaccio del lago.
    La passione per la fotografia aumentò e con il suo ultimo stipendio prima di lasciare il lavoro di audionomo si comprò una nuova macchina fotografica con funzioni macro e specchio in modo da poter creare immagini simmetriche e fantasiose del ghiaccio, non solo in inverno ma anche in estate grazie al ghiaccio naturale conservato nel congelatore e utilizzato tra i fiori.
    Satu ha sempre avuto fin da bambina dentro di sé una vena artistica e la sua nonna materna la incoraggiava a coltivarlo e così Satu  fece le sue prime sfilate di abiti artigianali avendo come spettatrici le mucche della stalla di nonna.
    Ha frequentato la scuola d’arte per bambini e ragazzi a Turku, ha studiato ceramica, scultura, disegno e pittura nei collegi cittadini dove risiedeva la famiglia e ha studiato scultura presso l’istituto scolastico operaio di Turku per circa 15 anni e frequentato il Mynämäki College of Arts and Crafts Textile Artesaani.
    La sua professione principale rimane quella di infermiere di medicina interna e chirurgia, audionomo e attualmente lavora come infermiere in un team di valutazione riabilitativa in assistenza domiciliare.
    Ha tenuto moltissime mostre personali dal 2016 al 2023 e ha preso parte a un buon numero di mostre collettive sempre nello stesso periodo.
    Ha pubblicato il libro “ Fosforikeiju ” nel 2017 e il pacchetto di carte e terapia Jään Lumous – Grace of Ice  nel 2020 ( 44 carte fotografiche formato A6 divise in 4 serie da 11 secondo gli elementi della natura: aria,fuoco,acqua e terra )
    Nel dicembre del 2016 ha vinto il Concorso fotografico sulla disabilità invisibile del Comitato di Turku di Kynnys Ry

    Veronika Sekotová that fleeting moment that can give joy and happiness!

    It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to the Czech artist Veronika Sekotová, born in 1983 in West Bohemia and currently residing in Netvořice, where she lives and works.
    Veronika graduated from the Higher School of Arts and Crafts with a specialization in graphics and after continuing her studies in the tourism sector, she began working in the marketing field, where she is still active today, although not full-time, having exploded internationally her fame as a paintress, a fact that keeps her very busy not only in painting but also and above all in following the numerous exhibitions in Europe and overseas in which she has been the protagonist, receiving numerous prestigious awards for her contribution to contemporary art (she has exhibited in her country in Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria, France, Great Britain, Miami and New York).
    Veronika has been interested in painting and art in general since childhood, discovering the beauty and power of art, and fine art in particular.
    In artistic school she fell in love with art history and thought about combining it with a study of tourism, but as the years passed, Veronika found herself juggling work and family, and art, unfortunately, became almost an occasional hobby.
    Until recently, when art returned to prominence in her life, allowing her to express her inner feelings through her works.
    But there’s more, for Veronika, painting is a source of joy, of pleasure and above all the ability to capture that fleeting moment in her surroundings capable of creating within her a sort of inspiration capable of allowing her feelings to flow outwards and pour onto her canvases.
    A phrase by the French painter Paul Gauguin that Veronika loves very much goes: “I close my eyes to see” and this is exactly what happens in the creative path undertaken by Veronika who, having closed her eyes to create her work, sends through her canvases the same invitation to whoever looks at them: close your eyes and be free to see what you want!
    Gauguin’s suggestions put an end to the concept that art is the imitation of nature, but above all the cornerstones of Impressionist painting fell away: no easel and painting “en plein air”.
    Artists admire what surrounds them, capable of capturing that fleeting moment which they make their own and memorize, and then transfer the emotions onto the canvas in their studio.
    And that’s exactly what Veronika did in her magnificent painting about autumn, made in her studio the day after her walk in the woods.
    Imagination and dreams play a very important role in all of our lives because they help us cope with the burdensome moments of everyday life.
    Artists, through their fantasies and dreams, know even more how to convey on canvas the emotions they have experienced inside.
    Veronika is a multifaceted artist and loves to try and experiment with new techniques, but she prefers to paint on canvas with acrylic paints.
    Sometimes she writes mostly indecipherable Czech phrases on the canvases, almost as if they were diary entries, thoughts spoken aloud to encourage the viewer to understand the message the painting is trying to convey.
    The life of an artist is not much different from that of an ordinary mortal, and so the famous fleeting moment is not captured simply by admiring nature with its flowers and marvelous landscapes, but sometimes by observing the ugliness and tragedies that surround us every day.
    However, in her paintings, Veronika aims to convey joy and serenity to those who view them, with the hope that one of these might brighten the home of an admirer.
    In 2024, together with the paintress Ivana D’Emilio, she founded a company dedicated to supporting the arts and is currently looking for a location to open his own art gallery.
    She also volunteers, which she considers the most natural way to give back to the community.

    Veronika Sekotová quell’attimo fuggente che sa donare gioia e felicità!

     Con grande piacere vi presento l’artista ceca Veronika Sekotová nata nel 1983 nella Boemia occidentale e attualmente residente a Netvořice dove vive e lavora.
    Veronika si è diplomata presso la Scuola Superiore di Arti e Mestieri con specializzazione in grafica e dopo aver proseguito gli studi nel settore del turismo, ha iniziato a lavorare nel campo del marketing, dove ancora oggi è attiva sia pure non a tempo pieno essendo esplosa a livello internazionale la sua fama di pittrice, fatto questo che la tiene molto impegnata non solo nel dipingere ma anche e soprattutto nel seguire le numerose esposizioni in Europa e oltre oceano che l’hanno vista protagonista, ricevendo numerosi premi prestigiosi per il suo contributo all’arte contemporanea ( ha esposto oltre che nel suo paese in Spagna, Germania, Italia, Austria, Francia, Gran Bretagna,Miami e New York )
    Veronika si è avvicinata alla pittura e all’arte in generale fin dall’infanzia scoprendo la bellezza e il potere dell’arte e in particolare delle belle arti.
    Al Liceo artistico si è innamorata della storia dell’arte e ha pensato di abbinarla allo studio del turismo, ma gli anni passano e Veronika si ritrova a dover fare i conti con il lavoro e la famiglia e l’arte ahimè è diventata quasi un hobby occasionale fino a quando recentemente l’arte è tornata a primeggiare nella sua vita permettendole di esprimere attraverso le sue opere quello che sente dentro.
    Ma c’è di più, la pittura per Veronika è motivo di gioia, di piacere e soprattutto la capacità di saper cogliere in quello che la circonda quell’attimo fuggente capace di creare dentro di lei una sorta di ispirazione capace di far defluire all’esterno i suoi sentimenti che si riversano sulle sue tele.
    Una frase del pittore francese Paul Gauguin che Veronika ama molto recitava “ chiudo gli occhi per vedere “ ed è proprio quello che avviene nel percorso creativo messo in atto da Veronika che avendo chiuso gli occhi per creare la sua opera manda attraverso le sue tele lo stesso invito a chi le guarderà, chiudete gli occhi e siate liberi di vedere ciò che volete!
    Le suggestioni di Gauguin hanno messo fine al concetto che l’arte è imitazione della natura, ma soprattutto sono caduti i capisaldi della pittura impressionista, niente cavalletto e pittura “en plain air”.
    Gli artisti ammirano ciò che li circonda capaci di saper cogliere quell’attimo fuggente che fanno proprio e memorizzano per poi nel proprio studio trasferire  le emozioni sulla tela.
    Ed è proprio quello che ha fatto Veronika nel suo magnifico dipinto sull’autunno, realizzato nel suo studio il giorno dopo la sua passeggiata nel bosco.
    La fantasia e i sogni giocano un ruolo molto importante nella vita di tutti noi perché ci aiutano a sopportare momenti ingombranti della quotidianità e a maggior ragione gli artisti attraverso le loro fantasie e sogni sanno come trasmettere su tela le emozioni che hanno vissuto dentro.
    Veronika è un’artista poliedrica e ama provare e sperimentare nuove tecniche ma predilige dipingere su tela con colori acrilici e talvolta sulle tele scrive delle frasi in ceco per lo più indecifrabili quasi come se fossero delle annotazione scritte su di un diario, dei pensieri a voce alta per spronare chi guarda a comprendere il messaggio che vuole trasmettere il dipinto.
    La vita di un artista non è molto diversa da quella di un comune mortale e quindi il famoso attimo fuggente non lo si coglie solo ammirando la natura con i suoi fiori e paesaggi meravigliosi ma talvolta capita di coglierlo guardando le bruttezze e le tragedie che ci circondano ogni giorno, ma Veronika nei suoi dipinti si prefigge di trasmettere a chi li guarda gioia e serenità con la speranza che uno di questi possa andare ad allietare la casa di un suo ammiratore.
    Nel 2024 ha fondato insieme alla  pittrice Ivana D’Emilio  una società dedicata al sostegno delle arti e di questi tempi sta cercando una location per poter aprire una propria Galleria artistica.
    Si dedica anche al volontariato che lei considera il modo più naturale per restituire qualcosa alla comunità.

    Paula Mikkilä from Finland, between past and present, a journey into art with a capital A

    With great pleasure today I introduce you to the Finnish artist Paula Mikkilä born in Karvia, a hidden pearl of Finland surrounded by the wonderful rural landscapes of the Karvianjoki river, but resident in Tampere for over twenty years.
    She graduated from the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Jyväskylä as a teacher specializing in fine arts and has dedicated a good part of her life to teaching as an elementary school teacher sharing much of her creative moments with children and teenagers.
    During the summer holidays she attended art camps in Finland and abroad.
    In the 80s she created a considerable quantity of oil paintings, then after her move to Tampere she devoted herself to bronze sculpture and for almost twenty years in the evenings after her school work she went to the foundry.
    Bronze casting involves several stages, allowing for the production of a limited number of sculptures per year.
    Working with bronze is not easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding, like the material itself, which, once transformed into a work of art, can convey incredible emotions.
    Paula draws inspiration for her works from her surroundings: home, nature, animals, and people, who, once part of her creative process, tell stories and fairy tales that take on an imaginative life of their own.
    For everyone, but even more so for an artist, time flies and perhaps unconsciously this is why Paula has given wings to many of her bronze figures.
    After the foundry closed, the bronze works were replaced by ceramics and acrylic painting.
    She has served as secretary and president in association activities related to the art world and is a member of Tampere Artist’s Association and  Jyväskylä Artists’ Association which are associations of professional artists.
    Paula has been dedicating herself full time to her artistic activity for over ten years now, even though she began participating in exhibitions in Finland in the 1990s and continues to do so today, having recorded significant participations in group exhibitions in Finland and abroad (including Brazil) over the years, where she has obtained important awards, including the  Velázquez & Goya International Prize in Barcelona in the autumn of 2024 and the Leonardo da Vinci Prize in Milan in the spring of 2025.
    She has traveled extensively to promote her art and she recalls her exhibition trips to Japan, Osaka, Rome and Venice as memorable, as well as her two summer artistic residencies in Matera, the city of stones in Italy.
    Recently he has combined old photographs with his sculptures, a sort of connection between past and present where glass and bronze blend perfectly, giving greater lightness even to the heaviest sculptures thanks to a perforated surface.

    Paula Mikkilä dalla Finlandia, tra passato e presente, un viaggio nell’arte con la A maiuscola

    Con grande piacere oggi vi presento l’artista finlandese Paula Mikkilä nata a Karvia una perla nascosta della Finlandia circondata dai meravigliosi paesaggi rurali del fiume Karvianjoki, ma da oltre venti anni residente a Tampere.
    Si è laureata presso il Dipartimento di Formazione Magistrale dell’Università di Jyväskylä come insegnante specializzato in belle arti e ha dedicato buona parte della sua vita all’insegnamento come insegnante di scuola elementare condividendo gran parte dei suoi momenti creativi con bambini e adolescenti.
    Durante le vacanze estive ha frequentato campi d’arte in Finlandia e all’estero.
    Negli anni ’80 ha realizzato una notevole quantità di dipinti a olio, poi da dopo il suo trasferimento a Tampere si è dedicata alla scultura in bronzo e per quasi un ventennio la sera dopo il lavoro a scuola è andata in fonderia.
    La fusione del bronzo prevede diverse fasi, per cui è possibile produrre un numero limitato di sculture per anno; lavorare il bronzo non è semplice ma molto gratificante come il materiale stesso che una volta diventato opera sa trasmettere emozioni incredibili.
    Paula per le sue opere trae ispirazione da ciò che la circonda: casa, natura, animali e persone che una volta entrate a far parte del suo processo creativo raccontano di storie e fiabe che assumono una vita propria e fantasiosa.
    Per tutti, ma ancor di più per un artista il tempo vola e forse inconsciamente è per questo che Paula ha dotato di ali molte delle sue figure in bronzo.
    Dopo la chiusura della fonderia, le opere in bronzo sono state sostituite dalla ceramica e dalla pittura acrilica.
    Ha ricoperto il ruolo di segretario e presidente in attività associative legate al mondo dell’arte e fa parte dell’Associazione degli Artisti di Tampere e dell’Associazione degli Artisti di Jyväskylä che sono  entrambe associazioni di artisti professionisti.
    Ormai sono oltre dieci anni che Paula si dedica a tempo pieno alla sua attività artistica anche se ha iniziato a partecipare alle mostre espositive in Finlandia negli anni’90 e continua ancora oggi facendo registrare nel corso di tutti questi anni significative partecipazioni a mostre collettive in Finlandia e all’estero ( tra cui il Brasile ) dove ha ottenuto importanti riconoscimenti tra cui vanno segnalati il Premio Internazionale Velázquez & Goya a Barcellona nell’autunno del 2024 e nella primavera del 2025 il Premio Leonardo da Vinci a Milano.
    Ha viaggiato molto per far conoscere la sua arte e lei ricorda come memorabili i suoi viaggi espositivi in Giappone, Osaka, Roma e Venezia, così come le sue due residenze artistiche estive a Matera, la città dei sassi in Italia.
    Recentemente ha unito vecchie fotografie alle sue sculture, una sorta di collegamento tra passato e presente dove vetro e bronzo si sposano perfettamente dando grazie a una superficie traforata più leggerezza anche alle sculture più pesanti.

    Paula Mikkilä Suomesta, menneisyyden ja nykyisyyden rajalla, matka taiteeseen isolla alkukirjaimella

    Suurella ilolla esittelen teille suomalaisen taiteilijan Paula Mikkilä, joka on syntynyt Karvialla, Suomen piilotetussa helmessä Karvianjoen upeiden maaseutumaisemien ympäröimänä, mutta joka on asunut Tampereella yli kaksikymmentä vuotta.
    Hän valmistui Jyväskylän yliopiston opettajankoulutuslaitokselta kuvataideopettajaksi ja on omistanut suuren osan elämästään opettamiseen alakoulun opettajana, jakaen suuren osan luovista hetkistään lasten ja nuorten kanssa.
    Kesälomien aikana hän osallistui taideleireille Suomessa ja ulkomailla.
    1980-luvulla hän maalasi huomattavan määrän öljymaalauksia, sitten muutettuaan Tampereelle hän omistautui pronssiveistoksille ja lähes kahdenkymmenen vuoden ajan hän kävi iltaisin koulun jälkeen valimossa.
    Pronssin valamisprosessissa on useita vaiheita, minkä ansiosta vuodessa voidaan valmistaa rajoitettu määrä veistoksia.
    Pronssin kanssa työskentely ei ole helppoa, mutta se on uskomattoman palkitsevaa, aivan kuten itse materiaalikin, joka taideteokseksi muuttuessaan voi välittää uskomattomia tunteita.
    Paula ammentaa inspiraatiota teoksiinsa ympäristöstään: kodista, luonnosta, eläimistä ja ihmisistä, jotka tultuaan osaksi hänen luovaa prosessiaan kertovat tarinoita ja satuja, jotka alkavat elää omaa elämäänsä.
    Kaikille, mutta vielä enemmän taiteilijalle, aika lentää, ja kenties tiedostamattaan juuri siksi Paula on antanut monille pronssiveistoksilleen siivet.
    Valimon sulkemisen jälkeen pronssityöt korvattiin keramiikalla ja akryylimaalauksella.
    Hän on toiminut sihteerinä ja puheenjohtajana taidemaailmaan liittyvässä yhdistystoiminnassa ja on jäsenenä Tampereen Taiteilijaseurassa ja Jyväskylän Taiteilijaseurassa, jotka molemmat ovat ammattitaiteilijoiden yhdistyksiä.
    Paula on omistautunut kokopäiväisesti taiteelliselle toiminnalleen jo yli kymmenen vuoden ajan, vaikka hän aloitti näyttelyihin osallistumisen Suomessa 1990-luvulla ja jatkaa sitä edelleen.
    Hän on osallistunut merkittävästi ryhmänäyttelyihin Suomessa ja ulkomailla (mukaan lukien Brasilia), joissa hän on saanut merkittäviä palkintoja, kuten Velázquez & Goya International Prize -palkinnon Barcelonassa syksyllä 2024 ja Leonardo da Vinci -palkinnon Milanossa keväällä 2025.
    Hän on matkustanut paljon taidettaan mainostaakseen, ja hän muistelee mieleenpainuvia näyttelymatkoja Japaniin, Osakaan, Roomaan ja Venetsiaan sekä kahta kesäresidenssiä Materassa, Italian kivien kaupungissa.
    Viime aikoina hän on yhdistänyt vanhoja valokuvia veistoksiinsa, mikä luo yhteyden menneisyyden ja nykyisyyden välille, jossa lasi ja pronssi sulautuvat täydellisesti yhteen ja antavat rei’itetyn pinnan ansiosta kevyemmän ilmeen jopa painavimmille veistoksille.

    Martina Uthardt from Finland send a hymn to the joy of living

    With great pleasure today I introduce you to the Finnish artist Martina Uthardt, born in Malax, where she currently lives in this big village and welcoming of about 5000 inhabitants in Southern Ostrobothnia, where Swedish is spoken rather than Finnish (about 6% of Finns speak Swedish).
    As a child, she followed her parents, who were development workers, to an agricultural school in Papua New Guinea, before returning to her beloved Finland.
    After a 10-year stint running a photography agency specializing in portraits, Martina has dedicated herself fully to painting professionally since 2021.
    Her experience as a photographer has undoubtedly given her a foundation in color and composition that has greatly benefited her as a painter.
    She has experimented with various techniques but currently prefers acrylic painting with its possibilities for layering and variations that make each painting alive and unique in different lights.
    Her passion for painting began at a young age, and her grandmother, appreciating her innate artistic talent, gave her her first watercolors. From then on, an incredible world opened up for Martina, where day after day she drew inspiration from her surroundings to share experiences and feelings of joy, peace, and comfort with others through her paintings.
    It must be said that Martina was helped on this journey by being fortunate enough to live in a region of Finland that can be described in three words: nature, freedom, space.
    When I first saw Martina’s paintings, I was struck by how this artist was able to perfectly represent the Finland I love so much.
    Closing my eyes after admiring many of her abstract landscapes, which are not so abstract after all, I saw again, as if in a dream, those places I love so much, characterized by those vibrant changes in nature that are fully reflected in her works and which are the cornerstones of Nordic beauty.
    Her works transcend mere artistic expression to become a form of meditation in which creativity is aimed at transmitting positive emotions, comfort and the invitation to fully appreciate the small joys that life gives us every day.
    Her  landscapes, where broad and sinuous brush strokes tell us about gusts of wind on a field or the speed of water in a river, alternate with dream gardens featuring flowers portrayed with soft shades of pink, blue and lavender, but in both themes each painting seems to be an invitation to contemplation and therefore time seems to slow down.
    Martina also has the gift of a flowing creativity, which allows her to paint daily, a fact that allows her to offer lovers of her works  a truly enviable portfolio, in terms of works available for purchase.
    She has achieved truly significant sales figures in the United States where she is represented by the “Insel Island Gallery” but above all in Finland and the Nordic countries where her art is highly appreciated.
    She has held numerous solo exhibitions in Finland and participated in several exhibitions organized by the gallery that represents her in Venice Beach, Los Angeles, and at the Google Campus in California.
    Also noteworthy are the thematic exhibitions such as : “FLOW”, “HOPE”, “BLUE”, ”BLOSSOM”, “LIFE” e “INSPIRE”.

    Martina Uthardt dalla Finlandia manda un inno alla gioia di vivere

    Con grande piacere oggi vi presento l’artista finlandese Martina Uthardt, nata a Malax, dove attualmente vive in questo grande e accogliente villaggio di circa 5000 abitanti nella Ostrobotnia meridionale, dove si parla lo svedese anziché il finlandese ( sono circa il 6% i finlandesi di lingua svedese )
    Da piccola ha seguito i suoi genitori che erano operatori dello sviluppo in una scuola agricola in Papua Nuova Guinea, per poi ritornare nella sua amata Finlandia
    Dopo una parentesi durata circa 10 anni in cui ha gestito un’agenzia fotografica specializzata in ritratti, Martina dal 2021 si è dedicata totalmente alla pittura in modo professionale.
    Sicuramente la sua esperienza come fotografa le ha lasciato un background sui colori e sulla composizione che l’ha aiutata non poco come pittrice.
    Ha sperimentato varie tecniche ma attualmente predilige la pittura acrilica con le sue possibilità di strati e variazioni che rendono ogni dipinto vivo e unico sotto diverse luci.
    La sua passione per la pittura è nata da piccola e la nonna apprezzando questa sua innata predisposizione all’arte le ha regalato i primi acquerelli e da lì in avanti per Martina si è aperto un mondo incredibile in cui giorno dopo giorno ha tratto ispirazione da ciò che la circondava per consegnare agli altri attraverso i suoi dipinti esperienze e sentimenti come gioia, pace e conforto.
    Bisogna dire che Martina in questo viaggio è stata aiutata dall’avere la fortuna di vivere in una regione della Finlandia che per descriverla nella sua interezza bastano tre parole: natura, libertà, spazi.
    Quando ho visto per la prima volta i dipinti di Martina sono rimasto colpito da come questa artista abbia saputo rappresentare al meglio quella Finlandia che io amo alla follia e chiudendo gli occhi dopo aver ammirato molti dei suo paesaggi astratti che non sono poi così tanto astratti ho rivisto come in un sogno quei luoghi che tanto amo caratterizzati da quei vibranti cambiamenti della natura che si ritrovano appieno nelle sue opere e che sono i capisaldi della bellezza nordica.
    Le sue opere trascendono la mera espressione artistica per diventare una forma di meditazione in cui la creatività è volta a trasmettere emozioni positive, conforto e l’invito ad apprezzare appieno le piccole gioie che la vita quotidianamente ci regala.
    I suoi paesaggi dove pennellate ampie e sinuose ci raccontano delle folate di vento su di un campo o della velocità dell’acqua in un fiume, si alternano a dei giardini dei sogni in cui trovano posto fiori ritratti con tonalità tenui di rosa, blu e lavanda, ma in entrambe le tematiche ogni dipinto sembra essere un invito alla contemplazione e quindi il tempo sembra rallentare
    Martina ha inoltre il dono di avere una fluente creatività, che le consente di dipingere giornalmente, fatto questo che le permette di offrire agli amanti delle sue opere un portfolio davvero invidiabile, in termini di opere disponibili per essere acquistate.
    Ha raggiunto numeri davvero significati in fatto di vendite negli Stati Uniti dove è rappresentata dalla “Insel Island Gallery “ ma soprattutto in Finlandia e nei paesi nordici dove la sua arte è molto apprezzata.
    Ha tenuto numerose mostre personali in Finlandia e ha partecipato a diverse mostre organizzate dalla Galleria che la rappresenta a Venice Beach,Los Angeles e al Google Campus in California.

    With great pleasure I introduce you to the Finnish artist Mari Knuuttila born in Lapua, a town located in Southern Ostrobothnia and where she currently lives and creates her works in her studio.
    Mari has been painting for about seven years, although her main profession is that of Chief Inspector at the State Administrative Agency, a role that requires strict compliance with laws and regulations.
    Through painting, Mari has found a way to give free rein to her visual art, free from rules or pre-established patterns.
    Her art is based on great professionalism and knowledge of various techniques, but guided by the intuition that drives her to create her acrylic and mixed-media paintings.
    Intuition always guides her choice of colors which is revealed with soft colors to convey a sense of calm and serenity, while on the contrary strong emotions push her to choose vibrant and intense colors.
    Mari is a multifaceted artist who paints abstract, figurative, and mixed media works on canvas.
    She doesn’t use a specific color palette, but rather loves to explore a wide range of colors and textures, all of which are always inspired by the emotions and thoughts that pervade her at the time of creating the work.
    Although Mari works full-time outside the art world, she holds a degree in Visual Arts and is President of the Lapua Art Association, a role that allows her to support the local art scene while also fueling her own inspiration through interaction with other artists.
    Her dream is to bring collectors and art lovers together, both in Finland and internationally, to create a link between the world and her art.
    For her, art is made up of four things: emotions, colors, imagination, and love. How could we disagree with her, given that these elements are so present in her works.
    I especially love poetry, and when I first saw Mari’s works, I felt the same emotions I get when I read a poem.
    A poet writes a poem and then delivers it to his readers, and this poem won’t have just one meaning, but can have many, one for each reader.
    As if by magic, Mari’s paintings become like poetry in the eyes of those who observe them, and thus those who look at them can grasp elements that she herself had not foreseen, thus giving her creations a great evocative power.
    In my case, looking at a painting by Mari I glimpsed something similar to a gondola in the fog which immediately brought my mind back to Venice and from here it was very easy to remember the film “Anonimo Veneziano” shot right in Venice (with Florinda Bolkan and Tony Musante) and to hear the soundtrack of the film again inside me which could only become the music of the first of my video stories dedicated to this extraordinary Finnish artist.
    Mari has an enviable artistic career, having achieved significant international recognition. Her works have been exhibited at numerous international art events throughout Europe and the rest of the world, including Italy (Venice, Milan, Florence, Rome, Forlì, Palermo), Austria, Estonia, Spain, Turkey, and the United States (Times Square, New York).
    Just this month of July the work “Red Sunset” participated in the International Exhibition of Visual Arts in Montecosaro (MC) in Italy, while among the next exhibitions in which it will participate in 2025 there will be the X International Art Biennial at Villa Farsetti in Santa Maria di Sala – Venice in October and the prestigious QIAF Art Festival in Doha, Qatar in December.

    Mari Knuuttila quando la pittura diventa poesia

    Con grande piacere vi presento l’artista finlandese Mari Knuuttila nata a Lapua, cittadina situata nell’Ostrobotnia Meridionale e dove attualmente vive e crea le sue opere nel suo studio.
    Mari dipinge da circa sette anni anche se la sua professione principale è quella di Ispettore Capo presso l’Agenzia Amministrativa dello Stato, un ruolo che prevede il rigoroso rispetto di leggi e regolamenti e Mari attraverso la pittura ha trovato il modo per dare libero spazio senza regole o schemi prefissati alla sua arte visiva che è fatta di una grande professionalità e conoscenza delle varie tecniche ma guidata dall’intuizione che la spinge a creare i suoi dipinti acrilici e a tecnica mista.
    Sempre l’intuizione guida la sua scelta dei colori che si palesa con colori tenui per trasmettere un senso di calma e serenità, mentre al contrario emozioni forti la spingono a scegliere colori vibranti e intensi.
    Mari è comunque un’artista poliedrica che dipinge su tela opere astratte, figurative o miste in cui non utilizza una tavolozza di colori specifica ma ama spaziare tra un’ampia gamma di colori e texture il tutto sempre generato dalle emozioni e pensieri che la pervadono al momento della realizzazione dell’opera.
    Nonostante Mari lavori a tempo pieno al di fuori del mondo dell’arte ha conseguito una Laurea in Arti visive ed è Presidente dell’Associazione artistica di Lapua, un ruolo che le consente di sostenere la scena artistica locale e al tempo stesso di alimentare la propria ispirazione attraverso un confronto con gli altri artisti; Il suo sogno sarebbe quello di avvicinare collezionisti e appassionati d’arte sia in Finlandia che a livello internazionale in modo da creare un trait d’union tra il mondo e la sua arte.
    Per lei l’arte è fatta di quattro cose: emozioni, colori, immaginazione e amore, come non essere d’accordo con lei visto che nelle sue opere questi elementi sono ben presenti nelle sue opere.
    Amo in particolar modo la poesia e quando ho visto per la prima volta le opere di Mari ho provato le stesse emozioni di quando leggo una poesia, un poeta scrive una poesia e poi la consegna ai suoi lettori e questa poesia non avrà un solo significato, ma potrà averne molti, uno per ciascun lettore.
    Come per magia i dipinti di Mari diventano agli occhi di chi li guarda come una poesia e quindi chi li sta guardando può cogliere elementi che lei stessa non aveva previsto dando quindi alle sue creazioni un grande potere evocativo.
    Nel mio caso guardando un dipinto di Mari ho intravisto tra le nebbie un qualcosa simile a una gondola che mi ha riportato immediatamente con la mente a Venezia e da qui è stato molto facile ricordare il film ” Anonimo Veneziano ” girato proprio a Venezia ( con Florinda Bolkan e Tony Musante ) e risentire dentro di me la colonna sonora del film che non poteva che diventare la musica della prima delle mie storie video dedicate a questa straordinaria artista finlandese.
    Mari ha un percorso artistico invidiabile avendo  ottenuto significativi riconoscimenti a livello internazionale, le sue opere sono state esposte in numerosi eventi artistici internazionali in tutta Europa e nel resto del mondo, tra cui Italia (Venezia, Milano, Firenze, Roma, Forlì, Palermo), Austria,Estonia, Spagna, Turchia e Stati Uniti (Times Square, New York).
    Proprio in questo mese di luglio l’opera “ Red Sunset “ ha partecipato alla Rassegna internazionale di Arte Visiva  di Montecosaro (MC) in Italia, mentre tra le prossime mostre a cui parteciperà sempre nel 2025 saranno in ottobre la X Biennale Internazionale d’Arte a Villa Farsetti a Santa Maria di Sala – Venezia  e nel mese di dicembre il prestigioso QIAF Art Festival di Doha, in Qatar.

    Mari Knuuttila – Kun maalaus muuttuu runoudeksi

    On suuri ilo esitellä teille suomalainen taiteilija Mari Knuuttila, joka on syntynyt Lapualla, Etelä-Pohjanmaalla, ja jossa hän nykyisin asuu ja luo teoksiaan omassa ateljeessaan.
    Mari on maalannut noin seitsemän vuoden ajan, vaikka hänen pääammattinsa on ylitarkastajana Aluehallintovirastossa, työssä, joka edellyttää tarkkaa lakien ja säädösten noudattamista. Maalaamisen kautta Mari on löytänyt tavan päästää irti säännöistä ja ennalta määrätyistä kaavoista – vapautuneen ilmaisun visuaalisessa taiteessa. Hänen taiteensa pohjautuu vahvaan ammattitaitoon ja erilaisten tekniikoiden hallintaan, mutta se syntyy ennen kaikkea intuitiosta, joka ohjaa häntä akryyli- ja sekatekniikkamaalausten luomisessa.
    Intuitio ohjaa aina hänen värivalintojaan: pehmeät sävyt välittävät rauhaa ja seesteisyyttä, kun taas voimakkaat tunteet saavat hänet tarttumaan kirkkaisiin ja intensiivisiin väreihin.
    Mari on monipuolinen taiteilija, joka maalaa abstrakteja, esittäviä ja sekatekniikkateoksia kankaalle. Hän ei käytä tiettyä väripalettia, vaan rakastaa tutkia laajaa värien ja tekstuurien kirjoa, jotka syntyvät aina hänen senhetkisten tunteidensa ja ajatustensa innoittamana.
    Vaikka Mari työskentelee täysipäiväisesti taidealan ulkopuolella, hänellä on kuvataiteen opintoja ja hän toimii Lapuan Taiteilijaseuran puheenjohtajana, mikä mahdollistaa paikallisen taide-elämän tukemisen ja inspiroi häntä vuorovaikutuksen kautta muiden taiteilijoiden kanssa. Hänen unelmansa on tuoda taiteen keräilijöitä ja taiteen ystäviä yhteen niin Suomessa kuin kansainvälisestikin, luoden sillan maailman ja hänen taiteensa välille.
    Hänen mukaansa taide koostuu neljästä elementistä: tunteista, väreistä, mielikuvituksesta ja rakkaudesta. Ja kuinka voisimme olla eri mieltä, kun nämä kaikki ovat niin vahvasti läsnä hänen teoksissaan.
    Rakastan itse runoutta, ja kun näin ensimmäistä kertaa Marin teokset, koin saman tunteen kuin runoa lukiessani. Runoilija kirjoittaa runon ja antaa sen lukijoilleen – ja tämä runo ei saa vain yhtä merkitystä, vaan jokaiselle lukijalle omansa.
    Samalla tavoin Marin maalaukset muuttuvat kuin runoudeksi katsojan silmissä: jokainen löytää niistä elementtejä, joita taiteilija itse ei ehkä ole tietoisesti suunnitellut, mikä antaa teoksille valtavan tulkinnallisen voiman.
    Itse löysin eräästä hänen maalauksestaan jotain, joka muistutti gondolia sumussa – se vei mieleni heti Venetsiaan, ja siitä oli helppo muistaa elokuva “Anonimo Veneziano” (Florinda Bolkan ja Tony Musante), ja kuulla mielessäni elokuvan ikoninen ääniraita. Tämä sävelmä sopi täydellisesti ensimmäiseen videotarinaani, jonka omistin tälle ainutlaatuiselle suomalaiselle taiteilijalle.
    Marin taiteellinen ura on kadehdittava, sillä hän on saavuttanut merkittävää kansainvälistä tunnustusta. Hänen teoksiaan on esitetty lukuisissa kansainvälisissä taidetapahtumissa ympäri Eurooppaa ja maailmaa, kuten Italiassa (Venetsia, Milano, Firenze, Rooma, Forlì, Palermo), Itävallassa, Virossa, Espanjassa, Turkissa sekä Yhdysvalloissa (Times Square, New York).
    Juuri tämän heinäkuun aikana hänen teoksensa “Red Sunset” oli mukana kansainvälisessä taidenäyttelyssä Montecosarossa (MC), Italiassa, ja tulevia näyttelyitä vuonna 2025 ovat muun muassa X International Art Biennial Villa Farsettissa, Santa Maria di Salassa – Venetsiassa lokakuussa, sekä arvostettu QIAF Art Festival Dohassa, Qatarissa joulukuussa.

    MaJ SJÖ dalla Finlandia porta con sé una ventata di positività

    Con grande piacere vi presento l’artista finlandese Maj SJÖ  nata a Helsinki, dove ha uno space studio a Kaapelitehdas, il più grande centro culturale della Finlandia, ma attualmente vive a Espoo dove crea anche nel suo home studio.
    MaJ ha ereditato la sua creatività e passione per il disegno dall’ambiente domestico, avendo la fortuna di trascorrere l’infanzia e di ricevere una educazione strettamente legate allo studio di architettura e design d’interni di suo padre, venendo così introdotta al mondo dell’interior design, dell’architettura e della creatività fin da piccola.
    Nonostante ciò, gli studi e la sua carriera l’hanno portata inizialmente in altre direzioni fino a quando nel 2021 ha realizzato un sogno a lungo coltivato: provare la pittura a olio, che all’epoca per lei era nuova e sconosciuta e diventare quindi un’artista visiva.
    Le sue opere hanno ricevuto non solo lusinghieri consensi ma anche notevoli richieste e così la sua carriera di artista è decollata, entrando in un mondo completamente nuovo.
    Ho sempre sostenuto che per vivere una vita soddisfacente e appagante la differenza è sempre data dalla capacità di gioire delle piccole cose, quelle che veramente sono capaci di regalarci intensi momenti di gioia.
    Quando ho visto per la prima volta le opere di MaJ ho capito subito come lei sia riuscita a cogliere e trasmettere nella sua arte tutti quei piccoli e grandi miracoli che la vita sa regalarci giorno dopo giorno.
    La sua raccolta di opere sull’Archipelago e in generale su tutto ciò che è mare o acqua (del resto il suo cognome SJÖ in svedese significa lago/mare)  sa trasmettere emozioni incredibili e per chi come me ha vissuto la magia che sa trasmettere Hanko guardare i suoi dipinti che la ritraggono vuol dire rivivere momenti di gioia e serenità indescrivibili.
    La Finlandia è stata riconosciuta per l’ottavo anno consecutivo come il paese più felice del mondo nel World Happiness Report 2025 e guardando i dipinti di MaJ non è difficile capire che la felicità abita proprio lì.
    MaJ è un’artista poliedrica che sa trarre ispirazione dalle cose belle che la circondano: paesaggi, edifici, colori, luce e diverse emozioni positive; la pittura per lei è il suo modo di creare un’atmosfera in uno spazio, un elemento che attira lo sguardo e capace di donare all’osservatore energia positiva e un senso di benessere.
    Dipinge principalmente con colori a olio e acrilici, ma usa anche acquerelli e inchiostro, tra le altre tecniche e non la si può etichettare in uno stile piuttosto che in un altro, la sua arte è varia e capace di esplorare sempre nuove tecniche e la sua filosofia di vita la porta a trasformare un cambiamento di tecnica o stile in una meravigliosa vacanza
    Quello però che è sempre presente in ogni suo stile è la positività che MaJ cerca di trasmettere attraverso la sua Arte.
    Accanto alla sua versatilità nella tecnica e nell’uso del colore lo stile delle sue opere si basa principalmente sull’intuizione del momento.
    Negli ultimi quattro anni ha partecipato a numerose mostre e ha saputo costruire e gestire una rete di contatti sui social media.

    MAJ SJÖ from Finland comes with a breeze of positivity 

    It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to Finnish artist Maj SJÖ, born in Helsinki, where she has a studio space in Kaapelitehdas, Finland’s largest cultural centre, but currently lives in Espoo where she also creates in her home studio.
    MaJ inherited her creativity and passion for drawing from her home environment, having been fortunate enough to spend her childhood and receive an education closely linked to her father’s architecture and interior design studio, thus being introduced to the world of interior design, architecture, and creativity from an early age.
    Despite this, her studies and career initially took her in other directions until in 2021 she realized a long-held dream: trying oil painting, which was new and unknown to her at the time, and thus becoming a visual artist.
    Her works received not only glowing acclaim but also considerable requests, and her career as an artist took off, entering a whole new world.
    I’ve always maintained that living a satisfying life is all about enjoying the little things, the things that truly bring us intense moments of joy.
    When I first saw MaJ’s works, I immediately understood how she managed to capture and convey in her art all those small and large miracles that life can give us day after day.
    Her collection of works on the Archipelago and in general on everything that is sea or water (after all, her surname SJÖ in Swedish means lake/sea) can convey incredible emotions and for those like me who have experienced the magic that Hanko can convey, looking at her paintings that portray her means reliving moments of indescribable joy and serenity.
    Finland has been recognized as the happiest country in the world for the eighth consecutive year in the World Happiness Report 2025, and looking at MaJ’s paintings, it’s not hard to see that happiness lives right there.
    MaJ is a multifaceted artist who draws inspiration from the beautiful things around her: landscapes, buildings, colors, light, and various positive emotions. For her, painting is her way of creating atmosphere in a space, an element that attracts the eye and can give the viewer positive energy and a sense of well-being.
    She paints mainly with oil and acrylic colors, but also uses watercolors and ink, among other techniques, and cannot be labeled in one style rather than another.
    Her art is varied and capable of always exploring new techniques, and her philosophy of life leads her to transform a change of technique or style into a wonderful holiday.
    What is always present in all of her styles, however, is the positivity that MaJ tries to convey through her art.
    Alongside her versatility in technique and use of colour, the style of her works is mainly based on the intuition of the moment.
    Over the past four years, she has participated in numerous exhibitions and has successfully built and managed a network of contacts on social media.

    Ulla Vaisänen artista finlandese

    Con grande piacere vi presento l’artista finlandese Ulla Väisänen, nata a Nerkoo, Lapinlahti, un piccolo villaggio nel centro della Finlandia.
    Attualmente Ulla vive a Jyväskylä, una bellissima città che offre la possibilità di vivere quella che io chiamo “ una vita alla finlandese “ dove la qualità della vita è sicuramente al primo posto nella scala dei valori per vivere una buona vita.
    Ha studiato presso la Kuopio Academy of Design (Textile arte, designer) e pedagogia presso la Open University di Tampere
    Non ci crederete ma Ulla da giovane dopo aver guardato il film “ La strada “ di Fellini si è innamorata dell’Italia e ha iniziato anche a studiare l’italiano.
    Non so se la visione di questo capolavoro di Fellini, dove fantasia e realtà spesso si alternano, abbia influenzato in qualche modo anche la vena artistica di Ulla che ha iniziato a disegnare e dipingere da adolescente, certo è che la sua arte è un mix ben calibrato tra simbolismo, surrealismo e un po’ di realismo.
    Guardando le sue opere mi sono venute in mente le parole pronunciate da Gustave Moreau ( precursore del simbolismo e surrealismo ) che Marcel Proust definì come “l’uomo che dipingeva i suoi sogni”, che della sua arte disse : “ credo solo a ciò che non vedo e unicamente a ciò che sento ”.
    L’arte è sempre stata ben presente nella vita di Ulla che ha lavorato come insegnante d’arte e oggi che è in pensione ha molto più tempo da dedicare a questa sua passione e lo fa dipingendo con colori acrilici ma non disdegna di dedicarsi a ritratti e disegni intuitivi con delle matite colorate e pennarelli.
    Nel 2011 ha realizzato le illustrazioni del libro per bambini “Reppuselässä” ( “ Su uno zaino “, ovvero come il piccolo Kalle ha imparato a dipingere un quadro ) di Minna Kettunen – Ulla Väisänen, questo libro è basato su una storia vera che racconta la storia del famoso artista finlandese Pekka Halonen (nato a Lapinlahti nel 1865 e morto a Tuusula nel 1933) e del piccolo Kalle, suo fratello.
    Dal 1997 ha iniziato a partecipare a numerose mostre collettive e dal 2003 ha cominciato a tenere le sue prime mostre personali, e la sua prossima mostra collettiva si terrà ad agosto 2025 a Jyväskylä, presso la galleria La Fiaba.
    Tra le mostre collettive che le hanno dato maggiori soddisfazioni vanno citate : ECHO a Budapest e Peséli del 2011 in Ungheria; Galleria Fogga di Helsinki del 2017 e 2020; le mostre collettive virtuali del 2020 e 2021 organizzate da Colombia ed Ecuador durante il Covid.

    Ulla Väisänen from Finland between dream and reality!

    With great pleasure I present to you the Finnish artist Ulla Väisänen, born in Nerkoo, Lapinlahti, a small village in central Finland.
    Ulla currently lives in Jyväskylä, a beautiful city that offers the opportunity to live what I call “a Finnish life” where quality of life is definitely at the top of the scale of values for living a good life.
    Studied at Kuopio Academy of Design (Textile art, designer) and pedagogy at Tampere Open University
    You won’t believe it but when she was young, after watching Fellini’s film “La Strada”, she fell in love with Italy and even started studying Italian.
    I don’t know if the vision of this masterpiece by Fellini, where fantasy and reality often alternate, has somehow influenced the artistic vein of Ulla who began drawing and painting as a teenager, certainly her art is a well-calibrated mix of symbolism, surrealism and a bit of realism.
    Looking at her works, the words of Gustave Moreau (precursor of symbolism and surrealism) came to mind, whom Marcel Proust defined as “the man who painted his dreams“, who said of his art: “I only believe in what I do not see and only in what I feel“.
    Art has always been present in Ulla’s life, she worked as an art teacher and now that she is retired she has much more time to dedicate to her passion and she does it by painting with acrylic colors but she does not disdain dedicating herself to portraits and intuitive drawings with colored pencils and markers.
    In 2011 she illustrated the children’s book “Reppuselässä” (“On a backpack”, or how little Kalle learned to paint a picture) by Minna Kettunen – Ulla Väisänen, this book is based on a true story telling about the famous Finnish artist Pekka Halonen (born in Lapinlahti 1865– died in Tuusula 1933) and little Kalle was his brother.
    Since 1997 she has started to participate in numerous group exhibitions and since 2003 she has started to hold her first solo exhibitions, and her next group exhibition will be held in August 2025 in Jyväskylä, at La Fiaba gallery.
    Among the group exhibitions that have given her the most satisfaction are: ECHO in Budapest and Peséli in 2011 in Hungary; Fogga Gallery in Helsinki in 2017 and 2020; the virtual group exhibitions of 2020 and 2021 organized by Colombia and Ecuador during Covid.
