A dream team will lead Finland

Una squadra da sogno guiderà la Finlandia
Sanna Marin, 34 anni, già ministro dei trasporti, è stata eletta primo ministro del governo finlandese, diventando il primo ministro più giovane del paese e il più giovane ministro in servizio del mondo
La nomina di Marin arriva dopo che il primo ministro uscente, Antti Rinne, si era dimesso martedì scorso dopo che un partito all’interno della coalizione aveva espresso una perdita di fiducia in lui; le critiche sono state mosse contro Rinne a seguito della sua gestione di uno sciopero postale senza precedenti in Finlandia Il governo di coalizione finlandese composto da quattro partiti su cinque con una leadership femminile: l’alleanza di sinistra con Li Anderson, 32; la Lega verde di Maria Ohisalo, 34 anni; il partito centrale di Katri Kulmuni, 32 anni; e il Partito popolare svedese con Anna-Maya Henriksson, 55 anni
Marin diventerà il primo ministro più giovane del mondo; infatti il primo ministro della Nuova Zelanda, Jacinda Ardern, ha 39 anni e il primo ministro ucraino, Oleksiy Honcharuk ha 35 anni
Senza entrare negli aspetti politici della vicenda da italiano mi congratulo con un Paese pioniere della parità di genere che è stato il primo in Europa a garantire il diritto al voto alle donne nel 1906 e che ha già eletto una donna alla presidenza della Repubblica ( Tarja Halonen 2000-2012 )

Without going into the political aspects of the story, as Italian I congratulate a pioneer Country of gender equality which was the first in Europe to guarantee the right to vote for women in 1906 and which has already elected a woman to the presidency of the Republic ( Tarja Halonen 2000-2012 )

Sisko Elina Mustonen è nata 59 anni fa a Kuusamo nella Finlandia settentrionale
Si è trasferita a vivere con il suo compagno sull’isola di Hailuoto ( vicino a Oulu ), ha tre figli adulti e un nipote
Ha due professioni, cuoca ed infermiera e attualmente lavora come badante e come consigliere di un club di anziani
Sisko Elina ha fatto ceramica per 15 anni e disegno per 4 anni, fondamentalmente è autodidatta ma ha studiato un po’ di entrambi, è animata da una grande passione e anche se sta muovendo i primi passi nel mondo dell’arte come è normale non potrà che imparare nuove tecniche per migliorare ancora di più le sue opere
Le piace disegnare le persone in diverse situazioni: divertenti, umane, genuine e la sua forza e ispirazione le proviene dalla natura e dall’atmosfera pacifica che circonda l’isola in cui vive

Sisko Elina Mustonen was born 59 years ago in Kuusamo in northern Finland

Sisko Elina has been making ceramics for 15 years and drawing for 4 years, basically she is self-taught but has studied a bit of both, she is animated by a great passion and even if she is taking her first steps in the world of art, as it is normal, she can only learn new techniques to improve even more her works
She likes to draw people in different situations: funny, human, genuine and her strength and inspiration comes from nature and the peaceful atmosphere that surrounds the island where she lives

Ines Calabria è nata a Bilbao dove risiede
Ha iniziato a dipingere da bambina e nel suo caso si può veramente dire che l’arte la accompagna da quando è nata, dal momento che non concepisce la vita senza la passione per la pittura
Attraverso i tratti colorati dei suoi pennelli si riesce a capire come Ines sia capace di immergersi in un mondo magico pieno di passioni in cui riesce ad allontanare quei fantasmi che ogni tanto accompagnano la nostra vita quotidiana e questo lo si vede dalla grande vitalità che le sue opere sanno trasmettere
Questa giovane artista ha sicuramente davanti un futuro pieno di successi che riuscirà a concretizzare grazie alle sue mostre personali dove saranno esposti i suoi dipinti molto particolari e pieni di personalità
Attualmente espone al Nostrum, proprio accanto al Museo Guggenheim di Bilbao

Mary Erickson, nata e cresciuta a St.Cloud in Minnesota si è poi trasferita a Bradenton in Florida nel 2000
Ha iniziato a progettare e cucire abiti per la sua bambola all’età di 10 anni e forse il suo precoce appetito europeo per la moda è insito nel suo DNA provenendo la famiglia della madre dall’Alsazia in Francia e quella del padre dalla Lorena in Germania
Da adolescente era solito visitare una piccola boutique dove poteva ammirare i molti cappelli esposti e coltivare quella che un giorno non sarà più una passione ma una vera e propria attività
Ha tre figli ormai adulti, Jana – proprietaria di 27 pizzerie insieme a suo marito Jim, il figlio di mezzo Steve, un pastore con sua moglie JoAnna e Wendy la più giovane, un ministro della salute per Organics for Orphans, Africa, con suo marito Dave
Mary è sempre stata una sarta per se stessa e per le sue due figlie, oltre ad essere consulente di Interior Design & Lease per appartamenti
Nel 2009 dopo un viaggio a Elur in India con il figlio Steve e sua moglie JoAnna ha iniziato a preparare la pubblicazione di un libro per raccogliere fondi per i bambini – cosa che è avvenuta nel 2010 quando è stato pubblicato il libro “ My Wee Book of Rhymes “
I suoi modelli preferiti di vita a cui si ispira sono Madre Teresa di Calcutta, custode dei bambini e Coco Chanel una grande della moda
Da non molto ha messo in scena il secondo atto della sua vita, iniziando a dare vita alle sue interessanti creazioni artistiche avendo ben chiaro che “Per essere insostituibili bisogna essere sempre diversi” e che “Non è mai troppo tardi per essere chiunque tu voglia essere” come recita Brad Pitt nel film “ Il curioso caso di Benjamin Button “
Ha iniziato creando fiori recisi a mano che sono andati ad abbellire cappelli autodidatti e poi strada facendo a iniziato a creare veri e propri cappelli che immancabilmente sono da considerarsi tutti veri e propri pezzi unici
Ha iniziato a partecipare con successo a varie esibizioni, tra cui la recente Palma International Hat Week
Nonostante la sua sia un’attività relativamente giovane, Mary ha un suo negozio online su etsy.com dove presenta buona parte delle sue creazioni
Mary mette una grande passione in questa sua attività e trova un gran piacere nel creare cappelli di stile, aggiungendo ad ognuno di loro una o più finiture che li rendono veramente unici ed originali nel loro genere
Non c’è dubbio che Mary sia sulla buona strada per trovare quel successo che merita nel mondo della modisteria e non è un caso che mentre assisteva sua madre nei suoi ultimi giorni di vita, quest’ultima le disse “ dal tuo cucito arriveranno i soldi per te “, questo succedeva 14 anni fa e nella vita è il caso di dire che non è mai troppo tardi … basta crederci, sempre!

Mary Erickson, born and raised in St.Cloud in Minnesota then moved to Bradenton, Florida in 2000
She started designing and sewing clothes for her doll at the age of 10 and perhaps her early European appetite for fashion is inherent in her DNA coming from her mother’s family from Alsace in France and her father’s from Lorraine in Germany

Mary has always been a seamstress for herself and her two daughters, as well as being an Interior Design & Lease consultant for apartments
In 2009, after traveling to Elur in India with her son Steve and his wife JoAnna, she began preparing a book to raise funds for children – thing that happened in 2010 when the book “My Wee Book of Rhymes “was published
Her favorite life models to which she is inspired are Mother Teresa of Calcutta, guardian of children and Coco Chanel a great fashion designer
Not long ago she staged the second act of her life, starting to give life to her interesting artistic creations having it very clear that “To be irreplaceable one must always be different” and that “It is never too late to be anyone you want to be “as Brad Pitt says in the movie” The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”
She started by creating hand-cut flowers that went to embellish self-taught hats and then on the way she started to create real hats that all of them must be considered true unique pieces

Usa tonalità pastello e colori tenui che ben sanno rappresentare paesaggi fantasiosi dove trovano posto linee ondulate, triangoli e cerchi che danno ai dipinti un qualcosa di molto particolare, tanto che osservando le sue opere ognuno di noi può provare ad immaginare un mondo si enigmatico ma al tempo stesso facile da rendere intimo ed essenziale

Elisabeth Davy-Bouttier è una pittrice francese, è nata nel 1960 a Beaupréau un piccolo paesino nel dipartimento del Maine e Loira
Nel 1980 si trasferisce a Parigi dove lavora come responsabile della comunicazione in una Società americana; dal 1987 si è trasferita a Tolosa
Inizia a dipingere nel 1994 e dal 1998 si dedica completamente alla pittura che considera la sua grande passione
Ha partecipato a numerose esposizioni collettive e individuali in Francia, Spagna, Svizzera, Israele,Italia,Inghilterra,Australia,Canada e Portogallo
La sua pittura trasmette un senso di pace e di rilassamento

Rosa Sepple è nata a Londra il 7 settembre 1951 da madre italiana e padre inglese, Luciana e James Wright
La sua formazione è avvenuta per buona parte in Italia tra Venezia e Treviso, nello studio di suo nonno Salvatore Casagrande, affermato artista
Al suo rientro in Inghilterra Rosa si è sposata con il fotografo Ed Sepple dal quale ha avuto due figli, alternando il suo ruolo di mamma a quello di pittrice, mentre oggi si occupa di pittura a tempo pieno
Rosa sperimenta continuamente usando una combinazione di mezzi tra cui acquerelli, acrilico, tempera e inchiostro, nonché collage per produrre splendide superfici strutturate e ricche variazioni di colore e tono.
Rosa dice dei suoi dipinti: “I miei quadri sono l’espressione di un mondo giocoso che non ho mai avuto; in qualche modo mi sono persa la mia infanzia, sono andata dritto al matrimonio e alla maternità e mi è passato molto del divertimento nella vita; ora, mentre mi siedo e lavoro nel mio studio, posso portare le mie immaginazioni più eccessive a fare una passeggiata in totale sicurezza e fare tutte le cose cattive che mi piacerebbe aver fatto “
E’ stata eletta membro del Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colour nel 2004 ed è membro della Society of Women Artists dal 2009
Le sue opere sono presenti in collezioni private in tutto il mondo ed ha partecipato a mostre ed esibizioni di primaria importanza compresa “ The Royal Academy di Londra “
E’ inoltre presente con le sue opere nelle principali gallerie d’arte del regno Unito
Tra i principali riconoscimenti ottenuti vanno citati : The Herring Award for ‘Best Figurative’, The Elizabeth Scott-Moore Award, The Debra Manifold Award, The Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer Award, The Andrew Hillier Award for ‘Creativity’ and two Daler-Rowney Awards

 

 

 

Rosa Sepple was born in London on 7 September 1951 to an Italian mother and an English father, Luciana and James Wright
Her training took place for the most part in Italy between Venice and Treviso, in the studio of her grandfather Salvatore Casagrande, an established artist
On her return to England, Rosa married the photographer Ed Sepple from whom she had two children, alternating her role as mother with that of a paintress, while today she is engaged in full-time painting
Rosa experiments continuously using a combination of mediums including water colour, acrylic, gouache and ink as well as collage to produce beautiful textured surfaces and rich variations of colour and tone
Rosa says of her paintings: “My paintings are an expression of a playful world I never had; somehow I missed my childhood, went straight into marriage and motherhood and much of the fun in life seemed to pass me by
Now, as I sit and work in my studio, I can take my most excessive imaginings for a walk in complete safety and do all the naughty things I might like to have done.”
She was elected a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Color in 2004 and is a member of the Society of Women Artists since 2009
Her works are present in private collections all over the world and she has participated in exhibitions and exhibitions of primary importance including “The Royal Academy of London”
She is also present with her works in the main art galleries of the United Kingdom
Recent awards have included The Herring Award for ‘Best Figurative’, The Elizabeth Scott-Moore Award, The Debra Manifold Award, The Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer Award, The Andrew Hillier Award for ‘Creativity’ and two Daler-Rowney Awards

AlinaYo è una designer di modisteria, cappelli e accessori nata a San Pietroburgo, in Russia
Il successo creativo di Alina è iniziato con la realizzazione manuale dei costumi teatrali, abiti che potrebbero trasformare una persona in una misteriosa creatura fatata
Oltre ad essere brava con l’ago e la visione, ha prestato la massima attenzione alla creazione di costruzioni complesse e volumetriche, imitando i possibili stili di capelli straordinari naturali, forme della testa, corna, dreadlocks, tubi, tentacoli e vegetazione molto prima della nascita di Avatar e Maleficent negli schermi pubblici
Uno dei suoi costumi infeltriti a mano si chiama “L’albero della vita”, con maniche e cappello che imitano i rami e la corona, un altro costume altamente elaborato ricordava l’aspetto di un Arlecchino medievale o Pulcinella, ma poteva anche essere riconosciuto come un elfo islandese da una bella fantasia
Dopo un periodo di collaborazione con artisti e attori in vari festival ed eventi sociali, Alina trasforma le sue capacità lavorative interamente nella progettazione di cappelli e accessori per capelli, spille, spille e fermagli per capelli
Alina ora trae ispirazione dall’esplosione degli anni ’20, il movimento modernista in stile Liberty degli anni ’20

AlinaYo is a milliner, hat and accessories designer born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia
Alina’s creative success started with hand making of the theatrical costumes, outfits that could turn a person into a mysterious fairy creature
Also being good with the needle and vision, she put most of attention in creating complex and volumetric constructions, imitating the could-be natural unordinary hair styles, head shapes, horns, dreadlocks, tubes, tentacles and vegetation long before Avatar and Maleficent were born into public screens
One of her hand-felted costumes is referred as “The tree of life”, sleeves and hat imitating the branches and the crown, another highly elaborated costume reminded a look of a medieval Harlequin or Pulcinella, but could be also recognized as an islandic elf from a beautiful fantasy
After a period of collaboration with performers and actors on various festivals and social events, Alina turns her hardworking skills entirely on designing hats and hair accessories, brooches, pins and hairgrips
Alina now derives her inspiration from the bursting 20-s, the Modernist Art Nouveau movement of the 20-s
As during the Belle Epoque in the 1900’s and decades later in the 1960’s, you would find a young bohemian movement – flying the flag for freedom of self-expression
The major cities like Paris, Berlin, London, New York and Washington were the social melting pots for the 1920’s cultural explosion
Women started to party in clubs, dance for jazz and changed their look by cutting their hair, hat brims and dresses. This was the time of the new iconic flapper look of bobbed hair, long necklaces and flapper hats
In fashion terms, the hats are known to be a very noticeable accessory, because the onlooker’s attention is first drawn to the face
Admitting the individual’s need for self-expression and having a good eye for understanding face features, Alina designs her hats to be elegant and flattering

Giulia Mio è una pluripremiata modista italiana che si dedica alla realizzazione di cappelli e copricapi sofisticati ed eleganti con i migliori materiali e con una finitura impeccabile
Si è formata come una modista tradizionale, ma sta sperimentando nuove tecniche e materiali innovativi, creando uno stile misto unico
È nata in una piccola città nel nord-est dell’Italia, a Udine, nella regione di confine del Friuli Venezia-Giulia
Ha studiato nelle scuole locali e, fin dall’infanzia, ha mostrato segni di temperamento creativo; preferiva sedersi all’interno durante le pause della scuola elementare e disegnare e dipingere con il suo insegnante di arte
Ha aggiunto tutto il movimento di cui aveva bisogno quando si è iscritta a una scuola di ballo locale all’età di 9 anni e da allora non ha mai smesso di ballare
Durante le scuole medie e superiori voleva diventare un’artista, ma ha dovuto aspettare fino all’università per seguire il suo sogno di studiare come costumista
Ha frequentato un BA presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia in Set e Costumi, diplomandosi a pieni voti nel 2007
Si è quindi trasferita a Milano per frequentare un Master in Costumi presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, laureandosi di nuovo a pieni voti nel 2011
Durante il suo secondo anno di MA, ha iniziato a sperimentare la modisteria e la produzione di cappelli per una grande produzione che ha coinvolto gli studenti di quell’anno.
Dopo la laurea si è specializzata in modisteria per la moda e il teatro tra Roma, Milano e Zurigo, lavorando principalmente come modista teatrale per “Brancato Costumi” a Milano, uno dei locali di lavoro più famosi in Italia
Ha creato il suo marchio “Le Volte Cappelli” con un collega nel 2011, e hanno progettato e realizzato cappelli di alta moda per matrimoni e occasioni speciali, per poi sciogliere la società nel 2013 quando Giulia si è trasferita nel Regno Unito
Da quando si è trasferita a Oxford, Giulia ha dovuto prendere una decisione di carriera impegnativa, dovendo scegliere tra la sua profonda passione per i costumi storici e la modisteria.
Alla fine, ha scelto i cappelli e ha frequentato diversi masterclass a Londra con i migliori modisti come Bridget Bailey, Jane Stoddart, Harvy Santos, Jane Taylor e Carol Maher, mentre nel frattempo sviluppava le sue tecniche
Ha fondato la sua azienda “Giulia Mio Millinery” nel 2015 e da allora ha ricevuto numerosi premi nazionali e internazionali di modisteria
Si è trasferita a Leicester nell’ottobre 2015 e ha fondato il suo studio nel prestigioso Makers’ yard , al centro del quartiere culturale nel centro di Leicester City
Lo stile di Giulia è il risultato di una miscela di arte, moda e osservazione della natura, ma anche le Belle Arti e il Teatro hanno un’influenza significativa sul suo processo creativo, con il suo amore per l’imprevisto e lo strano
L’uso di tecniche innovative, combinate con materiali tradizionali, consentono a Giulia di liberare la sua ispirazione dalle convenzioni, che vanno dai cappelli classici e senza tempo a pezzi artistici folli e ricchi di dettagli

Giulia Mio is an Italian award-winning couture milliner devoted to making sophisticated and elegant hats and headpieces from the finest materials, with an immaculate finish
She trained as a traditional milliner, but she is experimenting with new techniques and innovative materials, creating a unique mixed style
She was born in a small town in North-East Italy, Udine, in the border region of Friuli Venezia-Giulia
She studied in local schools, and, since childhood, she showed signs of creative temperament; she preferred sitting inside during breaks in Primary school and draw and paint with her art teacher
She added all the movement she needed when she joined a local ballet school at age 9 and never stopped dancing since then
During Middle School and High School, she wanted to become an artist, but she had to wait until Univerity to follow her dream to study as Costume Designer.
She attended a BA’s at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in Set and Costume Desing, graduating with full marks in 2007
She then moved to Milan to attend an MA’s in Costume Design at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, graduating with full marks again in 2011
During her second year of MA’s, she started experimenting with millinery and hatmaking for a big production involving the students of that year
After graduation she specialised in millinery for fashion and theatre between Rome, Milan and Zurich, working mainly as a theatrical milliner for “Brancato Costumi” in Milan, one of the most famous costumes work-room in Italy
She created her brand “Le Volte Cappelli” with a co-worker in 2011. They designed and made exclusive couture hats for weddings and special occasion. They dissolved the company in 2013 when Giulia moved to the UK
Since moving to Oxford, Giulia had to make a challenging career decision, having to choose between her deep passion for historical costumes and millinery
Eventually, she chose hats and attended several masterclasses in London with top milliners like Bridget Bailey, Jane Stoddart, Harvy Santos, Jane Taylor and Carol Maher, while developing her techniques
She founded her company “Giulia Mio Millinery” in 2015, and since then she was awarded several national and international millinery awards.
She moved to Leicester in October 2015, and she established her studio at the prestigious Makers’ yard, at the centre of the Cultural Quarter in Leicester City centre
Giulia’s style is the result of a blend of Art, Fashion and observation of Nature but also Fine Arts and Theatre also have a significant influence on her creative process, with her love for the unexpected and uncanny
The use of innovative techniques, combined with traditional materials, allow Giulia to free her inspiration from conventions, ranging from classic and timeless hats to crazy and full of details artistic pieces
She is specialised in creating one-off hats and fascinators, tailored to client’s style and personality, to give a unique bespoke experience
